I'm driving from Chicago to Orlando at 5pm. Whats the safest place I can stop to rest for the night?
We have driven that route a few times and always stop in Chattanooga Tennessee because it is approximately half way between Chicago and Orlando. There we spend the night at the Chattanooga Choo Choo Hotel because we enjoy spending the night in full size Victorian train car hotel rooms. They also have regular hotel rooms. We never had any problems in Chattanooga.
Things to do in Chicago for 21 year olds? leaving tomorrow!?
Hi, 2 of my friends and I are heading to chicago for the weekend. We all know city somewhat well but we haven't been there since we turned 21 (just turned about 1 month ago). We are looking for maybe some cool bars or a club. We are really trying to look for something that caters to people our age rather than like upper 20 year olds. Something pretty friendly and all that. Also, some other ideas for us would be appreciated. I'm sure we will hit up navy pier and the mile but i don't really know much more then that. What do you think about the case of Treffly Coyne and leaving her two-year old daughter asleep in the car?
I'm just dumb-founded by this story. Perhaps I should do the honest thing and turn myself in to the police for not watching my children every single moment of the day. Do you watch your child all night long? You know, something COULD happen to them to endanger them in their crib! Do you take one toddler out of the vehicle in the garage & let them into the house so you will have the hands needed to get your infant out of the car? And what if you have 3 or 4 children?? How can you humanly do it all at once, still ensuring that the first child that got out of the car hasn't run toward the street or if the garage door is closed, the tools hanging on the peg board? It's safer to escourt the first one inside- leaving one child unattended for a few moments. COME ON AMERICA!!! They might as well jail EVERY mother b/c I guarantee each mother has not kept a visual on a child at some point. When do we go to the bathroom?! Since when does the government tell me what is best for my child? How can they look at a glimpse of my life without any context, without knowing who I am and say that I chose the least safest option? Since when has the government become the parents? I am appalled and angered by this case. What a WASTE of tax dollars. I can rant for hours about this one. Mrs. Coyne should absolutely NOT go to jail or pay a fine. In fact, a public apology should be given to her as well as any compensation in court fees etc associated with this case. I'm curious if there is anything being done publicly to show support for Mrs. Coyne? Is there a petition or anything to sign via the internet or someone to call to tell "the powers that be" how stupid this is? My prayers are with the family tomorrow as they go to trial. If the state wins this one we are all in trouble. God save America b/c we are destroying ourselves!
