There was a time that I’m craving for an adventure. Something that could crack people’s mind while seeing me doing that weird stuff and also I’m craving for something I’m eager to do before.My then boyfriend is a super street guy. He usually hangs out with people in the street and usually make friends with those drivers.He was an easy go adventure guy. And whatever crazy idea i went into, he always supports it.So my craving that time was this.Cebu jeepney drivers would not allow this to happen to Filipinas out there. Even if you begged them just for fun or maybe youre in a hurry, they would decline your offer and leave you there until you find a spot for you. Those drivers would not care if your late or not. They’re concern is about your safety and the street guards out there. That is totally a violation especially for the safetiness of the passengers.But in my case, my then boyfriend has a lot of friends who drive 13C. Because of his friendliness, my simple request was granted: to stand at the back of the jeep like those girls in the picture did.The feeling is quite scary for me and enjoyable but Im pretty confident that time that I wont fall down since my boyfriend is always looking over me. Foreigners may:- own condominiums(like I do)- own houses but not the land on which they are built- enter into "long" leases on the land itself(eg terms of 50 years w/ 25 year renewals)Again, there are lots of details here especially when you're married to a Filipino citizen(more options become available) or have something like a Special Resident Retirement Visa(SRRV). You could also denounce your citizenship and become a Filipino citizen(after living in PH for 10 years, I think it is) though that's obviously extreme for most.Be aware, too, that some of the very important things we(in the US, at least) might take for granted around the real estate transaction are not necessarily the case especially as you move outside Manila: clean titles, claims, and land records, in general. This could make even the above possibilities more complicated than expected. I own a condo in Manila bought through one of the larger developers and it was pretty straight-forward, all things considered.
