Im Looking For A Job But I Dropped Out Of College On A Job Application Should I Add That I Went To

How to list GED on job application?

I went thru 9th grade once and failed it (bad kid I was) Started back again next year but left because of pregnancy. Years later now I have gotten my GED and am ready to put it on job applications but I'm confused about how to list it. Example, The app I'm looking at right now has under Educational Information: High School (name and address of school) (course of study) (circle last year completed 1 2 3 4 ) (Did you graduate yes/no) (list degree obtained Diploma or GED)

So how would I fill this out? Last GRADE actually competed would be 8th middle school but according to my GED its a Maryland High School Diploma and I was told its an actual high school diploma. So I'm confused as to whats the proper way to list it on an application.
Thanks for any answers!

Thinking about dropping out of college?

Hello,

Im currently going to college and hate it (especially the lack of substance in the classes). Yes it's a university (supposively a good school), but I find im learning more outside of my classes and cannot find interest in any specific major. Im thinking about dropping out and going to costa rica or a cheap country to live for a few months and "find myself". I really dont know what I wanna do, and I don't feel like I should be wasting my youth somewhere that i am miserable.

Note: I have earned the money to do this and have parents that will support me in any decision and help me get back to college aftewards.

my questions are -

Do the older people wish they had done this? (instead of jumping into a degree theyre not sure of) or have you done this and can you provide some good ideas/alternatives?

Do any younger people want to do this (or have done this and did it help)?

Really any different viewpoints would help. This decision is eating me up and Im sure this could help out a few other "lost" college students (by no means do I mean deadbeat, I work hard and usually obtain what I want, that is........ if I knew what I wanted.)

Thank you,
pasdriz

10 years ago I dropped out from college.  I want to go back, but applications ask for transcripts.  Since I didn't earn a degree do I have to provide them?

You are probably on the verge of making what Bernie would say is a YUGE mistake. Has anyone explained to you that only one in four who matriculate graduates and gets a good job? Has anyone explained to you the risk involved with taking out student loans. Do you understand the concept of opportunity cost?I didn’t think so.Go to community college. Earn a marketable certification. Layer that certification and get a marketable Associates degree.Seimens will pay for your education and give you a job making $50K. John Deere will pay for a lot of your education and give you a job making $50K. At Gateway Community College Center for Advanced Manufacturing an Associates degree costs $10K and can lead to a $60K job.Or you can go $50K in debt and end up working at Starbucks. Your choice.Postscript: Providing the community college your transcript will save your taking a few classes. All you need to do is request this from your old school. Looking at some of these other answers, you are getting some of the dumbest advice imaginable.

What do I put in the "Area of Study/Degree" on a job application if I'm a High School student?

just put general. Or you actually don't have to put anything, when an employer sees high school they know you do not have a specific concentration of study...so its not a big deal.
