Im Looking For Electronics.

I'm looking for a new project in the field of electronics and communications. Can anyone suggest the latest trends I can work in?

I would suggest you to do a project which will take you to your dream company. As your from E&C and interested in quadcopter, I would suggest you following.Development of algorithm to improve stability. (Control system)Development of filters to have better response.(signals & system). What I mean here is to demonstrate different stages of filter and corresponding system response.Showing amplitude, frquency modulation response .(analog communication). Sending modulated way to demonstrate improvement range, power and efficiency.Object detection ( image processing) Try developing small algorithm to detect wall, roof etc.Building a copter is old now, try to integrate a feature to it. Use a microcontroller or a raspberry.Develop your code flash it and control it.Here my object was to suggest a project which will meet your interest and make you better for interviews. It will give you in hand experience to join core companies.

Where do I get started in electronics? I'm looking for a book/kit that can cover microcontrollers and circuits.

Start with the basics of all electronic devises. Understand the working of diodes, BJT and MOSFET.Then go to Opamps, timers, amplifiers and other circuits. Also learn some digital electronics like codes, mux, demux, registers, flipflops, kmaps, etc.You can then go to microcontrollers (Assuming you know basic programming). You will understand it well once you have the basics of electronics.Electronic circuits and devices by Boylsted is a very good book for electronics. There are various books for microcontrollers (on different microcontrollers). You can buy an Arduino kit consisting of all the basic components. It is a very easy to use development board and is best for beginners to start off. There are also many good tutorials on YouTube for learning it.ALL THE BEST!

I'm looking to pursue my M.S. in electronics and my choice of university is the University of Illinois. What is the difference between the campuses, the one at Urbana-Champaign or UIC, Chicago?

You should essentially treat them as different universities. This is the case with most US universities, there is a vast difference between campuses. A better question might be, to ask what are the similarities, apart from the name, and common state.BTW, if you simply say, University of Illinois, it refers to UIUC.

I'm looking for a company, Thomas Electronic Corp. It was in Nashville, TN in the 1980's?

If it is the same organization that I am thinking of they manufactured quite a few bigger ticket items like televisions and small appliances. They got screwed by Walmart and stopped manufacturing everything but the top dollar televisions. They won a law suit against the Chinese accusing the Chinese government of subsidizing the Chinese companies so that they could own the US market. But some years later they too failed to compete with the Chinese manufacturing giants.

In which country kenwood electronics are made? I am looking for a toaster that was not made in China?

According to this:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kenwood_Ele...
it is a Japanese company, but it's difficult to tell if they have manufacturing in China, or import sub-assemblies made in China and assembled in Japan or elsewhere, like the US.

You may think that killing the animals without their consent is cruel, but bear in mind that at some point Nature will cause the animal to die anyway. A tragedy to be sure, but in this case the humans are the scavengers, making use of the deceased animal's nutrients and body, as well as Nature's noble scavengers. I don't recall hearing that cats or dogs were endangered species, and I did hear that at least cats, if not dogs, are revered pets in the Chinese culture. If you're going to go the moral Vegan route, any electronic or industrial component is produced from toxic and environmentally hazardous procedures, so you'd be better off toasting your toast using a solar-powered cooker (no fire, that uses wood viciously torn from innocent trees). And don't forget that the bread you intend to toast is created from the milk, butter, and eggs stolen from the helpless slave cows and chickens. It's an ugly world we live in.

How does Amazon ship fragile stuff like electronics? I'm looking to buy a gaming laptop on Amazon, but so far I'd always get busted boxes from them even though the content inside wasn't breakable. Do they pack electronics more carefully?

Thank you for A2A!Usually, the packaging of electronic products is made specifically to withstand shipping conditions. If the seller is trusted and the electronics you buy was not used before then you have nothing to worry about. In case of international shipping you may ask your forwarder for additional packaging if it is insufficient(or if you are buying used electronics). It will cost you a few more bucks on shipping because it may increase packages weight/dimension, but nothing serious.

I took a BTech in electronics & communications. I am looking for a job in the IT sector. Whenever I attend any interview, the interviewer asks me why I want to join the IT sector. What should be my answer?

IT is 100 Billion$ and still growing industry. It had tremendous growth rates in the past decade which albeit has slowed down, but still growing. It employs about 10 million people. This industry provides growth and opportunity to learn and travel. So there is a growing demand. This demand can't be fulfilled just by computer science graduates. People from multiple disciplines have made IT industry their field and are excelling. Sometimes people from other disciplines are also valued by way of domain knowledge they bring.
