Im Trying To Reply To A Comment

How do YOU reply to compliments?

For example, what would you say when someone tells you you're beautiful? How would you reply in a manner that suggests you're thankful and modest but not cocky in accepting a compliment (even if you disagree)?

How do I reply to comments on Quora?

You say “all REPLY” buttons are grayed-out” in the comment to your question.Have you tried pressing “Reply” anyway? Try it and see.If that doesn’t work, try restarting the app (or your browser), or even restarting your device. If none of that works, it is possible comments have been disabled. This can be confirmed by determining if you can comment ono other answers and reply their comments.

I am very bad at writing captions and replying to comments, how can I improve?

For the captions:Take inspiration from others pictures. Like if they've got a good caption then you can try to implement that sort of caption in your pictures. Try not to exactly copy it as that shows lack of creativity.Or you could simply just describe what's happening in the picture… We went to Turkey one time and we were on the Bosphorus River and because it separated two continents (Asia and Europe), my brother write the caption “One photo, two continents” Simple as that, no unnecessary padding needed…For the comments:When a person comments on your photos, you should either make a reminder on your phone to reply back to that certain comment.Or what you could do is make it your goal to at least reply to 3 comments before you go bed. Then when you feel you've achieved that increase it to 5 and so forth.

I’m trying to comment on YouTube, but it just says “An error occurred. Try again later” every time I try to post a comment. I just downloaded the latest iOS on my phone. Could that be the issue?

It could be many reasons here are a few. Only certain region are selected by the uploaded to comment. You are not logged in to YouTube using your gmail account. Your account is suspended by youtube or google. To test, login with a different account, use another device or Co Peter to comment on the same video, have a friend try to comment on the same video.

Why does nobody reply to my comments on Quora (I'm not rude in my comments)?

As others have said, the writer may not have even seen your comment. Also, Quora isn't typical social media. Many people read and never upvote or comment. Some writers accept comments on their answers but don't reply. You comment may be such that no reply is needed. I tend to upvote those so you know I've read it, but many writers don't.Rude is definitely in the eye of the beholder. If I feel a comment violates BNBR, I'll report it. I've seen people totally bewildered about what was offensive in their content. Or dismissive of other individuals or Quora policies as “too sensitive.”If a comment seems less than useful, I may just ignore it. I may delete it after a day or two.I have made “Quora friends” by commenting back and forth and eventually using private messages. But I've done other things that help build a connection: answering questions they've asked, mentioning and giving them credit when I answer the same question they do, following them, quoting or linking to their answers in mine. Others have done the same by commenting on my answers and quoting me.But none of that is standard or to be expected on Quora.

How to respond to a jealous comment?

i would say either don't respond or respond with a funny emoji, like the kissy face or a winky face. Instagram photos aren't like text messages- you dont need to feel obligated to respond to them, and people won't usually be insulted if you don't respond. If you feel obligated, use an emoji to keep a playful mood.

Is there any way to view old Myspace comments?

Okay, I'm trying to view old old Myspace comments on my page. After about 4 years, they don't show. I can still see the person who left the comment in my comment feed, still leaves an option to reply or comment back, still says how long ago (roughly) the comment was left, just no comment itself, which seems kind of ridiculous. So my question, obviously, is how in the heck do I view the actual comment. If it is impossible, I may weep.

How should you react to a person when after a comment they say "I'm not trying to be...[offensive][smartass][rude][whatever]" but they clearly are?

There are some good answers here for how to respond when the person is being rude. However, there is also the possibility that they are trying to be honest about something important that they know could sound harsh.  Sometimes being open to honest feedback is useful. If it's coming from someone who just likes to be rude, then take the advice already given here about how to deal with it.If it's coming from someone who might have something useful to tell you, then take a deep breath, put on your thick skin, and listen.  Then take a few minutes to pause and think about whether or not there was something useful in it before reacting.  If there was something useful, then thank them and maybe let them know how they could have better presented that information (you could even preface your own feedback with "I don't mean to be rude, but...." ;).  If it turned out to just be rude, then you know in the future to keep your guard up around that person.PS - Oops, I just noticed the end of your question "but clearly they are", sorry.  I can delete my response, or leave it here as the counter point for a discussion broader than originally intended.Edit (4/30/12) PPS - I came across this today from an article called "Executives Share the Best Advice They Ever Received" from Business Insider:"Jim Sinegal, the founder of Costco, gave me fantastic advice because we were going down the wrong track. We brought him in to look at our plan and he said, 'You know, I don’t want to be rude but this is exactly the wrong thing to do.' This was my idea, and he was right."Read more: http://www.businessinsider.com/e...
