The topic is song lyrics. I can take any angle on it. I have to write a speech that's 3 minutes long for a competition. When I was the maid of honour for my sisters wedding, I wanted a fun speech, Everyone was laughing, So I found this rhyme/poem that was hilarious, I change some of the wording to refelct our past. wedding speeches are normally pretty short, no longer than a minture to a minute and a half. so you don't need to say too much. you should include the following things: 1. mention you have been asked to speak by elliot, because you are pretty young for giving a speech at a wedding, so you should start by telling the guests you are speaking because you were asked by elliot to speak. make it sound nice and as if you feel it is a privilage to be asked. 2. mention how lovely the wedding was. how beautiful your mother looks, how handsome the groom. something complimentary about the wedding. 3. thank the guests for coming to share this special day with your family and let them know how much if personally means to you. 4. share a cute or funny short story or joke about your parents, about elliot or your mom...something tastefull but a little funny if you can think of something 5. tell elliot how glad you are that he has taken your mother and you and your sister as his own family and how much you are looking foward to the years ahead with him at the helm of your family. 6. tell your mother how glad you are that she said yes to elliiot and what a great choice she made. (dont make any mention of their breakup and gettting back together. nothing negative for this occasion) 7. ask everyone to join you in a toast to their happiness and a successful, happy and long married life together but don't repeat anything which may have already been said by other toasters. you should make some notes to follow, but try to make it all sound heartfelt and spontaneous and keep it short. people get bored with long speeches.
Can someone give me ideas on a student council speech for middle school?
First thing, I do not agree with Leon K. (a previous answer). It's not all a popularity contest. That's what I thought before but found out different two days ago. I ran for judge in this field trip thing we're doing for school where we run a town, and I was running against one of the most popular girls in school. I knew I wouldn't win because I wasn't "popular", but I did. And I have also run for student council at my school and gotten it. Here's some of the things that I would do: -Tell them what you would do as a leader. First, listen to the issues your classmates want solved. Then, in your speech, tell them about how you will solve them. -Tell them the experience you've had (4-H, other clubs, etc.) -At the beginning of the speech try something like: Hi my name is (put your name here), and I'm running for your student council vice president. As your vice president I will... -At the end of the speech, say something like: So vote for me, (put your name here again), for your student council vice president -Tell them the responsiblities you have at home (babysitting, etc) and how these will help if you get the position -Include how you will try your best to represent the students And that's it. Remember when you are making your speech that these people are nice :) and focus on an encouraging friend or imagine the students in their underwear or something, who knows.
