Im Writing A Story Where I Can Post It T Get Some Feedback On It

What can I do to get some feedback for my book, I'm writing a book, and I need some opinions, any takers?

Among serious writers and serious readers you’ll have a hard time finding anyone who’ll consent to read and evaluate your book for free. You would probably have trouble finding any of those people who’d even do it for a fee. They’re absorbed in their writing and their reading just too much (which isn’t a bad thing) to give up precious time to someone else’s work. You can find people who will be a beta reader for your book as long as it meets their preferences - genre, age group, others I can’t come up with right now - maybe nonfiction. I mean, some people don’t wish to move out of their preferred areas, their comfort zones. On Facebook, you can find quite a lot of sites offering beta services, some free, some for a fee. You just need to look around under keywords. And then there’s the standard way to search: Google. Just type in beta readers and make a list of which seem suited for your material. Do research, look for references, be sure you know what you’re getting for the trouble - and what they get for their trouble. It’s another of those tricky situations that haunt serious writers.Good luck1

I'm writing a book similar to Lolita. What's some feedback I can get?

I'm going to assume this is for Camp Nanowrimo .  . . my first piece of advice is to finish the story first, maybe with beta readers if you have beta readers handy, and then worry about your audience. If you want a more definite answer, you have to answer these questions for yourself:eFirst, what genre is your story? People sometimes are attracted to genres rather than to a story being true. Is it historical fiction? Thriller? A nome de clair that will get the real people demanding a lawsuit? Decide where you want your book to me in the market.Second, where and when is it set? The age of consent is 13 in Japan, so while it would raise some eyebrows it would technically be legal. Juliet was 13 in Shakespeare's work, and the Stark girls are around the same age when one gets engaged to a prince in A Game of Thrones. Third, how available will this book be once it's published? Most people have switched to E readers and Kindles, but some of us still prefer paper copies on occasion. Are you going to self-publish or submit to an agent or small press? That will determine the channels of distribution.Lolita became a classic not because of the scandal, but because Nabokov created brilliant prose with an unreliable narrator that exposed the pathos of victim blaming. and on captives surviving their jailers. A lot of critics missed that point, buying in the unreliable narration with ease. Nabokov spent years perfecting his craft in writing in Russian and English, thus he was willing to take a creative risk on a controversial story. I would have to read your book first to give a more straight-forward "yes" or "no", and if you want a beta reader I'll volunteer to help make the story better in revisions.

Where can I post my writings (short stories, poetry, etc.) online for other people to read and critique? I have a website/"blog," but I can't get much traffic to it .

There are so many options to enjoy reading and writing! My personal favorites are Commaful, Wattpad and Archive of Our Own, but here are my pros and cons of all of them. All of these are free.CommafulGorgeous visuals and layouts. The stories really come to life in a different way and looks incredibleBest chat system and feed of the fanfiction and writing sites - strong fan community engagementStill really new and very small library of works compared to other sites, but as a result easier to grow early audiences if it’s your first time postingArchive Of Our Own (AO3)Huge library of stories, usually higher quality worksmostly fanfictionIncredibly detailed searching systemCan be a bit intimidating to use if you’re new to fanfictionWattpadI’m personally a huge Wattpad fan for original fiction. I think it’s the best place to post longer form novels.Search function is very clunky. Hard to find works that I like in fanfiction in particularHuge potential audience and pretty sizable libraryFanfiction.netA bit easier to use than AO3, huge library of workspretty much all fanfictionbasic messaging system that AO3 doesn’t haveMediuman amazing place to share more thought piece related works. political ideas, tech ideas etc.HUGE audience and library, if your work goes viral, it really goes viralTumblrNot just for fanfiction and writing; it’s a great way to get connected with the entire fandom. You’ll find memes, fan art, and fanfictionGreat place to promote fanfiction and get readersVery tight communities around any fandom you can think ofQuotevSadly, these days, Quotev doesn’t get as much use for writing. Still quite popular for quizzes, roleplaying, and other thingsGreat chat systemI’d recommend trying out all of these and see which ones you like. From the posting side, I recommend Commaful for shorter works and AO3 for longer and more advanced works.

I'm writing a novel. i need some feedbacks?

Critics are harsh. You may be heartbroken, but in the long run it helps you write better novels. I've read only the first two sentences and already found something wrong. I'm very picky with writing so I don't think I'll read through as I don't think you can handle real judgement. What I noticed in the first two sentences was you're using more than one tense. You say you're "DOING my best to run" (Present), but than you use past tense in things like "the pain WAS so powerful" and, "I TOLD myself". Pick ONE tense.
Don't start sentences with, "but".
And the word "protested" doesn't work where you put it. Protesting is kind of like argueing.. If you're in "great pain" as you put it, and screaming.. You wouldn't be "protesting", you'd be.. well.. wondering. Even "wondering" is too delicate a word for such a painful situation. And you felt your feet "give up", not gave up. Also... I'm guessing that since you have an "all knowing" narrator, aka your narrator is someone's thoughts/from a character's point of view - That character is your main character? And I'd also assume that since she/he's in such a pickle, that they are supposed to be the books hero. If you have your hero wondering how she's going to die.. Well that's not very heroic. Have her panic, but at the same time think of ways to get out of the situation she's landed herself in.

I won't bother to read Chapter 1... You've got a good idea going, but love CRITICISM IS GOOD WHEN YOU'RE WRITING A NOVEL. It helps you write. Ask for it when you've got more though, so you won't give up so easily. And DON'T GIVE UP. This could be something. A couple more things - Don't use the same word twice in one sentence, and describe things, but remember people want to visualize things for themselves. Try not to describe a bunch of different things in one sentence.

Happy writing!! Don't let anyone ruin what you're passionate about.

How do u write your own stories on FanFiction.net?

Fanfiction.net is the best for writing fanfiction for books, movies, tv shows, anything.
But if you're planning on putting a story of your own creation up on there, then it's better to try http://www.fictionpress.net so as not to anger fans who expect a Harry Potter but get a story about another planet!

Can I get some suggestions/ideas for a cursed town in a story I'm writing?

Hello! I'm writing a private story and it's just pretty much based on a town and the people that live there, but I wanted to add some sort of a town curse. I just need some help getting my ideas flowing. Thank you everyone!

I want to post my story online but I'm scared?

Given that you are so young to have written this, odds are that you won't want to publish it. As you get older, your writing will develop and improve. By the time you're a little older, you're more likely to have something publishable.

In the meantime, posting your story online is a perfect way to get feedback. You avoid the embarrassment of showing it to anyone in the real world, and the people reading it will most likely be very supportive. In short, I would recommend posting it anywhere you can. It will help you to write better in the future, and you'll enjoy the process.

What's a good site to upload some fiction stories I write?

Hands down writing.com. I joined it a few years back, when I was about fifteen, and it served me well then, serves me well now. To be honest, I haven't tried too many others, so I don't know if it's the best, but it is really good, and reading your requirements, I'd say it's perfect for you. There is no montly payments or any payments at all if you keep the basic option. There's upgrades and such, but you don't really need them. There are ways to advertise your stories, but even if you don't, tons of people stumble upon it to rate and review (if you want, you can set it to private or friends only). No tests at all. There's a "giftpoint" system, sort of like yahoo answers, you get points for reviewing some stories or poetry, and you can also give your giftpoints to someone. Right when I was starting out, I got an anonymous gift (an upgrade from basic for six months) from someone who liked my story. If you don't want to give away your giftpoints, you can always buy stuff (t-shirts, mugs, mousepads) with their logo on it from their website (however it will take you a while to gain enough giftpoints). But main point, you can keep it absolutely free if you want, and you can also get different types of weekly writing newsletters with other peoples' stories and all types of writing advice. An added bonus, they send you e-mail birthday wishes, and reminders to write and upload ocasionally (not spam) if you're really in need of that motivation :). I sound like an advertisement, but I really like this website. You can try it out if you like, and see if it works for you. I admit the layout is a bit confusing if you want to do more than just upload and get feedback, but I'm sure you'll get it. Hope this helps!
