Imac Wifi Comes And Goes

Does the iMac have built-in WiFi and Bluetooth?

Yes the Macs have built in WiFi, that is what Airport is. Enjoy your Mac.

My wifi connection comes and goes.?

We can't see the picture.

I see three possibilities.

1) Your router is not sending the WiFi signal. This would be a hardware issue. Sometimes electronics just get flakey. The fix is to get a new router. Assuming the Ethernet ports work you can even plug it into the old one.

2) Your laptop/phone/device is not picking up the WiFi signal. If you can see other networks then it's not that device's fault. If they all go away, then it's your device's fault, not the router.

3) Interference can block the signal. Cordless phones are infamous for using the same frequencies, thus knocking off WiFi service. Other devices using the same frequency (including other WiFi devices on the same channel can cause this.
Things like microwave ovens can cause interference that knock you off as well.

My MacBook Pro keeps disconnecting from my home WiFi. What could be the issue?

One quick-fix that could work: Change the service order of your networks.Apple puts Bluetooth at the top by default, that could interfere with your Wifi connection. Go to Apple menu -> System Preferences -> NetworkPress the settings button below on the left side:Choose Set Service Order.. , and drag Bluetooth DUN to the bottom:Press OK and then Apply. If that doesn't help, you could also delete the Wifi connection with the Minus button, and add it again with the Plus button.Next options: Restoring the factory settings on your router, chance the channel on which it broadcasts, or replacing it all-together.

Wifi in Mac is not working?

I've been using IMac for 5 months. After I installed Snow Leopard, I've got a wifi problem.

Sometime is not working but the airport's symbol looks fine. But when I get into the SAFARI it's not working.

I have to restart or turn the airport off and turn it on again then it comes back.

In the same time, My sister's PC that using wifi in the same time is working fine. But Mac is not.

What should I do??

How do I use Wi-fi direct on my Mac?

On your Mac, go to the WiFi icon on your menu-bar and click on it.

Choose 'Turn WiFi on' (on Snow Leopard this is called 'Airport').

After you have turned it on, click on the icon again and look at the options. Choose 'Create Network'

Follow the prompts (you can add password if you like).

That process creates a little WiFi network around your Mac that is good for about 25 ft range.

Go to the TV and start the search for network. It should find the Mac.

Hopefully you would know what to do from there.

Good Luck

P.S. you may have to turn on 'Screen Sharing' on the Mac.

To do that, got to System Preferences and choose 'Sharing'.

Once there, select 'Screen Sharing' from the choices on the left.

If the padlock is LOCKED, you will need to enter your password to unlock it.

That's it.
