Immigration Issue. This Is Not My Situation

Why is immigration such a controversial issue in the USA?

I never understood this, because there simply is not enough jobs to go around. We talk about the middle class and opportunities all the time, we focus on education, and the government is right there to help with funding and making loans available, but are there consequences to this path? I believe so. 50% of college grads are stepping out of college with no jobs available, and many simply end up taking jobs in fields that had nothing to do with their education. But the government stays busy overseeing it, and banks and those who loan the funding stay busy for years regaining these funds back. There are over 20 million illegal aliens in the USA right now, and a massive amount of these illegals are working blue collar jobs, leaving college grads in a jam, they cant find employment in fields that require the higher education, and cant fall back on blue collar work to get by on till things turn around. This is why I believe the middle class of America is hurting so bad, lack of opportunity, not lack of education that so many would have you believe. This country has always been about opportunities to succeed thru hard work, but nowadays even that does not work out for its citizens. Plumbers, auto technicians, construction, manufacturing, warehousing, electricians, and on and on, blue collar work, the backbone of this country, not being a lawyer or a doctor as some would have you believe. These blue collar jobs in days past were always available to American citizens who did not have a college education, they strapped on their work belts and worked hard and provided a decent income to raise a family on. We have all heard the stories nowadays, unless you have a college education you cant find employment, but in today's world you cant find a job even with higher education and you cant find a job in blue collar work either, college grads are basically screwed. Wouldn't deporting the 20 million illegals in this country open up a floodgate of opportunities for American citizens?

Please help with my friend's immigration situation?

Hello. Basically, his family members including himself was working on EB3 unskilled worker immigration under his wife name. They were interviewed on last october but unfortunately they were placed on AP (administrative process) and then TP (transfer in progress) which I understand are referring to immigration rejection.

My friend is currently MD and has been interested in working in US as medical doctor and applied for residency. He was recently offered an interview from an hospital in US for residency program and needs to come to US for interview.

Given his situation where EB3 has been on AP and TP, our understanding is that he is not eligible for ESTA visa which I understand requires no history of applying for any type of immigration, what is his option if any? Can he still apply for B1 or B2 visa? If possible, does he need lawyer to process this?

Also, supposing he gets into this residency program which offers J1 visa, will he have problem getting this visa due to his prior record regarding his recent EB3 request being turned down?

If he needs lawyer and he gets legal service from an immigration lawyer, how much will be likely fee he needs to be aware of? Thanks.

Based on America's current situation with immigration what changes would you think be most beneficial to their policies?

Thanks for the A2A.If I could wave my magic wand and write such policies as I thought would work, I would:Build the wall (although this is not strictly an immigration issue.Mandatory E-Verify with stiff penalties for hiring illegals.Reduction of total immigration numbers for at least a generation or two to allow our current crop to assimilate.Switching to a net economic benefit model and away from family reunification and diversity.Establish a “Guest Worker” program for seasonal labor.Swift deportation of the illegals now present.Mandatory imprisonment at hard labor followed by swift deportation and permanent bar for visas, applications for asylum or residence and citizenship for future illegals.Permit the processing of applications for asylum outside the country.Mandatory confinement for all illegals of whatever age and grade until their case is heard in court and they are either deported or allowed to stay.Economic sanctions for nations encouraging illegal immigration to the US.

Does Democratic party have a real solution to illegal immigration issue in the USA? I am not talking about status quo or open borders.

“Does Democratic party have a real solution to illegal immigration issue in the USA? I am not talking about status quo or open borders. “As I've pointed out numerous times, the Trump solution is the very one Democrats have fought for since the end of the Hippy Era. It made sense then and does now. But, because Trump is selling it to the Republican base, the Democrats decided to oppose their own policies and instead echo Ronald Reagan in 1980.Reagan advocated open borders, opposed what became the 2006 SECURE FENCE ACT and, as we know, initiated amnesty for illegal or “wetbacks" as they were once known. With the policy Trump just announced as seems to be attacked for, those seeking asylum are now invited to present themselves at the border — rather than sneaking into the country and only raising the asylum claim if and when they are caught. In a related issue, note those who want to keep illegals hidden by opposing the Census Question about citizenship. Factually, it would establish a solid count of those immigrants who have yet to become citizens — obviously, it doesn't ask if they are “legal" or anything related to non-fiction status. Though follow-up census work might seek related information. There is an element that wants illegals and shadow cultures or economies undermining the national unity of the “melting pot" society which is and has been America. They will work hard to keep census data inaccurate.

Can immigration officer check my status at the airports ?

I heard that immigration officers can check randomly legal status at the aiports in Floryda. Is there is any law which allow them to check people status ?. What happen if a person is illigal can they deport anybody right the way from the aiport without deportation process.

How does immigration affect your everyday life?

1. Increased traffic
2. Increased auto insurance rates
3. Increased taxes
4. My son's high school is overcrowded and gang-infested. (I attended that same school and it didn't used to be that way.)
5. Increased rents due to overcrowding.
6. Less Emergency Rooms, in part because of illegal aliens who have not paid their bills.
7. The daily indignity of being forced to pay more in taxes so that the poor from other countries can put their children in our schools and use our emergency rooms and welfare systems.

I could go on but I'll spare you my sob story.

Are all these problems entirely due to illegal aliens? No. But since they shouldn't be here anyway, getting rid of them would alleviate a lot of this.
