In Comparison To Russia How Much More Wars And Conflict Has The Us Engaged In The Last 10 Yrs And

Does NATO stand a chance in a war against Russia?

That depends what kind of war. Russia has quite different military doctrines than the USA and NATO in general. If Russia invaded Europe, according to old Cold War plans, it’d be a defeat for them. They simply lack the necessary force. They are not prepared for this kind of force projection, their army is not designed to face NATO forces as an attacking force. If a Russian invasion ever occured, it’d be in the Baltic states or somewhere else in the buffer zone. In any case, it’ll be very limited and the Russians will try to achieve a status quo before major NATO forces drive them out or their little adventure escalates into a worldwide shitstorm. But if NATO invaded Russia, that’ s a whole different story. In this case, NATO would very well lose. The Russians are well prepared to defend their Motherland, and they have strong traditions doing so. Not to mention that NATO also lacks the necessary ground potential. Most likely they’d grind to a standstill somewhere around the Dnepr, and then it’s either nukes or GTFO.To summarize, a NATO-Russian war would not lead anywhere, in any case. There is no point trying to win small territories from each other while risking to lose everything. (And I am not talking only about a potential nuclear scenario: there are serious economic ties tangling the two factions to each other, and straining them would be almost as bad as bombing each others’ cities.) As neither side could invade the other’s territory and occupy enough land to cripple the opponent into submission, it’d be just a very nasty tug of war. Finally let me point out that no wars are repeated exactly as the previous one, yet military planners tend to fall into the mistake of preparing for it. In WW2, the demise of France was to prepare for trench warfare and mass attacks again, but they got mobile armies and air support. Britain still believed in the might of the battleship, just to have its ass kicked by Japan and have most of its warships locked in Scapa Flow by German submarines. Most people nowadays imagine a war between Russia and NATO as some strange mix of WW2 and Cold War plans. No it’ll never happen. Not that way.

Should the US have nuked Russia in 1946?

The problem with that idea is the simple fact that America, and the rest of the world, just ended the bloodiest war the world has yet seen. Prior to the close of WW2, U.S. citizens were dreading the fact that American soldiers would have to eventually invade the Japanese mainland to subdue a fanatical enemy that dragged America into 4 years of heavy fighting. Analyst calculated that the price to force a Japanese surrender would cost another 500,000, or more, American lives. President Truman knew that no one would put up with such high loses that would double American deaths for the entire war. He decided that dropping the atomic bomb would save more live, in the end.
The point is that the American people had no more tolerance for another war. However, if General Patton was in position to make the call, he would have rolled over Berlin and headed straight for Moscow. Also, Russia's army was massive by the end of 1945. They surely outnumbered America under every category, except navel forces. Our allies also would not get involved or they would have declared war on Russia at the outbreak of WW2. The allies singled out Germany because that was a victory within their grasp. For America to defeat Russia they would have had to expect another 3 plus years of heavy fighting with no guarantee of victory. If the allies wanted communism removed they would have allied with Nazi Germany and the kicked the crap out of Stalin. Maybe Fascism would have made a better ally than Communism, they were both equally malicious.
Another factor to consider is that Russia successfully deployed spies into America's deepest secrets. The USSR had a more promising spy ring than America, in the sense that they were able to steal secrets from the Manhattan Project. If we were a war with Russia, they would have built an atomic bomb at a faster pace than if it was made during peace time. The conclusion is America and Russia blow each other and the world. America would look like a big asshole to the international stage, "America picks up where Hitler left off."

What impact did the vietnam war have on public opinion of the US government?

As far as government ideas are concerned, it definitely changed peoples' ideas because it showed that we werent the superpower thought of after winning WWII. With the rise of containment (containing the spread of communism/Russia) Americans pretty much supported any conflict that involved stopping Russia. Basically, the Vietnam War humbled us because it showed that we could not just go around and bully whoever we wanted.

The Tet Offensive which was part of the Vietnam War was important because it dramatically lowered public support for war. People were so angry that Lyndon B. Johnson, who was president at the time, decided against running for re-election

There are also some parallels between that war and the one we are in today, so that may be part of the reason that there is little support for this war.

The war also resulted in the government re-implementing the draft which greatly angered Americans, led to riots, and created an anti-war counterculture.

Why is Russia better, than the US?

Thats because Russians believe that everyone is equal , but America is against them. Plus , Russia is too concerned about culture and it's people. Russia wants to help developing countries (ex: India) , but America doesn't like it (no offense if your'e American).
Russians are generally not arrogant and friendly to mingle and deal with. However , they have a problem with speaking English.
