In Media How Would You Separate All The Different Kinds Of Fictional Witches

What's the difference between Wicca, magick, white magick, and magic?

Wicca is a new age mystical tradition that aspires to what was supposedly extant hundreds and thousands of years ago (but whose records have not, generally, survived to the modern day). In a legal sense, it’s a convenient word for any pagan religion that needs to sound organized (though generally, there is no such organization).Magick is the same as Magic. I did an Ngram search and it appears that the version with the K was used prominently in the 1600s, probably in reference to the Salem witch fiasco, but I believe modern usage is trying to tap into the archaism of this pre-dictionary spelling. Magic is anything that defies explanation through conventional, scientific means. All religious miracles are, thus defined, magic, as are phenomena that we do not have experience with.White magic is the school of thought that believes that magic should be used for some objectively good” purpose. In the Final Fantasy series of video games, which is from where most people are familiar with the term, white mages do healing and buffing spells.Red magic, by the way, is about destruction. Black magic is about tapping into “forbidden knowledge” and, well, more destruction. All magic of this sort attempts to utilize willpower and faith to convince unknown and unseen forces in the universe to yield to the practicioner’s demands. I hope you see from my answer that yes, these are all the same, and tap into the same personal energies.

In this era of alternative facts, how do you personally differentiate between fact and fiction?

First, I consider whether the news comes from a reputable news medium. Then, I consider what evidence the news medium provides. Finally, I look to see if other reputable news media have picked up on a story.Reputable news media do make mistakes. CBS, for instance, has had major embarrassments from airing stories before vetting their sources thoroughly (Dan Rather and Lara Logan). In general, however, news media with proud reputations want to keep them. They vet sources, and they are transparent about reporting news when their source is a weak one. The Watergate reporting of Woodward and Bernstein relied on an anonymous source, but Ben Bradlee, the editor of The Washington Post — knew the identity of Deep Throat and considered him reliable. When The Washington Post or The New York Times uses an anonymous source, I’m less skeptical than when Breitbart uses one.

Why are people who believe in Witchcraft nothing like fictional witches?

The real question is why are fictional witches nothing like real witches? Movies and shows confuse people, make young folks expect too much pizazz, and scare Christians and normal folks into believing we are all evil.Witches, as a rule, are moral and ethical people who lead mostly normal lives, dress kinda like hippies (sometimes goths), and are pretty much the flower children of the new millennium. They just “pray" and worship differently.Magick is more subtle, usually, than what is depicted —no changing your appearance with a wave of your hand (but you can change the impression you make), no telekinesis or teleportation, no levitating or making people hallucinate. None of those things are even aligned with magick, which tends to focus more on spiritual goals than mundane ones (though both are part of the work).Witchcraft has more to do with personal discovery of the divine and the freedom to be true to the call of your spirit. Most witches see Christianity as fear-based, stifling, and judgmental, which is why they left that religion. They are not evil, and they are not even wicked, usually. They're just hungry for direct contact with their spirituality rather than accepting a preacher as their mediator between them and god.

Good Topics For A Religion Research Paper?

I'm think of doing a research paper on either:
Sciencetology
Demonology
Souls
Chinese Zodiac

these are just some, if you can think of any more can you let me know?

Should Christians read Stephen King novels?

His books and movies depict graphic violence and terror.

If you live in the Holy Spirit and let it guide you in wisdom and piety, it will guide your heart, soul, mind away from these occultish materials.

Let's put it this way:

Psalm Verse: "Come back to Me with all your heart, long have I waited for your coming home, to live deeply our new life."

King: Darkness, morbidness, seclusion surrounded the home, and no growth was ever achieved near the bitter place....

Common sense and a good heart would want to read something pure, loving from God, Right.

Witches: Why do you believe that you're witches?

I feel as if I should get to understand people and why they believe what they believe before I comment on it, so I'd really like to know why do you think that you're a witch??

What do you guys do that's so witchy? How does one become a witch? Is witch synonymous to Wiccan? Do you cast spells and move stuff? I'd really like to be more knowledgeable on the matter, I've never really talked to self-proclaimed witches about witchery so I'd like to know.

Im not here to mock anyone, Im just a skeptic who would like to understand more why people say they're witches...
