Do adoptive parents still receive money from the state after they adopt a foster child?
In 1996 the ASFA (Adoption and Safe Families Act) was passed and federal guidelines were established in order to help more families afford to adopt children from foster care. Federal Guidelines were established and funding for a variety of things was made possible. The hope was that more children previously considered Un-Adoptable would be placed with families that may not have been able to meet their high special needs without certain supports beyond Public Education and Medicaid or State Health Insurance. Along with clear time lines for case plans, and states being responsible to provide more post adoption support additional things were taken into consideration. Children adopted from foster care will continue to receive Medicaid or State Health insurance until the age of 18 or 21, even if they are named on the parents primary health insurance. Each state also established specific guidelines for the definition of "Special Needs" in their own states. Special needs can include a variety of issue and it's important to remember that it is designed to help children who are the most difficult to place. In most cases an Adoption Assistance or Adoption Subsidy Agreement is made to provide for things that will help the child with their special needs. It cannot be used for anything that public education or medicaid will pay for, but can be used for qualified respite, special equipment, therapeutic equipment or activities, medical supplies not covered by medicaid and other services or supports. From my experience I believe Adoption Assistance or Adoption Subsidies are the best way that the state and federal government has to Prove they have provided adoptive families with Support. The problem I have seen however is that when the State provides Money to pay qualified respite providers for example, the state is Done with their part--they provided the parent with the funds to pay for this support--the problem is that They Don't Provide an Actual Method of Getting qualified Respite providers. So the State Paid the Parents for Something they Can't Always even Find. Governments off the Hook and mom and dad have funding for services that may or may not even exist.
How did President Obama fail to please Rust Belt voters that they ended up voting for Donald Trump? Why didn't he do anything to revive the dying economy? Will Trump end up neglecting it? What could Obama have done better to help the Rust Belt?
Firstly because of an arrogance of the Democrats. Obama - just like the entire Democratic and even Republican Party - took for granted that the Rust Belt would vote the Democrats and it never even crossed their minds that it could change.I’ve read about a town in Rust Belt that no member of the USA’s government visited since JFK himself. The people were writing to Obama, Clinton and others to come and to listen to them; no one did. Except Trump. I personally dislike most of Trump’s ideas and policies but I must admit that the style in which Trump was doing his presidential campaign was pure genius.Secondly because of an arrogance of the modern liberals who ignore the poor white people. I’m an European, a modern liberal from the American POV and if I had to chose out of the US presidential candidates I would probably vote for Sanders. However I’m not blind to the faults of the modern liberals. The Socialists and Green parties in Europe and liberals in the USA passionately defend various sexual, racial and religious minorities against real or possible oppression. However they totally ignore the poor white people because they simply classify them as “privileged heterosexual whites” who don’t need protecting. And this is quite ironic if you think about it since it were these people who previously voted for socialists in the first place.The newspapers and TV are filled with ideas about unisex toilets, accepting immigrants from the 3rd world or how to help the poor in Africa. But when was the last time that liberals would talk about or try to help the poor white people from the formerly industrial parts of the country like e.g. the Rust Belt?And if these people had some reservations about the liberal policies they were regarded as stupid ignorant racist “band of deplorables” who don’t understand how the modern world works.These relatively poor white people from regions and smaller cities are the forgotten ones and they are those who voted for Brexit, Donald Trump and that will continue to put the right wing populists to power until the mainstream politicians would begin to take care of their problems.Conclusion: Obama ignored the Rust Belt because he is a Democrat who took the Rust Belt votes/voters for granted and because he is a modern liberal who doesn’t care for poor whites.

My daughter. Taken from me in a forced adoption. I miss her. I love her. I WANTED HER. I WANT HER STILL!!! I know that can never happen unless when shes older she wants 2know me. I met her Adoptive parents after the court had finalised the adoption. I looked at this woman and wonderd what she had that I didnt. Why did social services an the secretive family court steal my baby and give her to this woman. And 2this day I KNOW that me and my daughter were victimised by ss to meet government adoption targets!! I dont hate th woman who has my daughter, how cn i? I lov her lyk she my own sister an I only met her once!! I h8 the fact tht shes doin my job, feelin my joy an pain, bringin up my baby. An it absolutely rips me2 pieces tht my baby lovs her cz that love was supposed to be mine. I hate the fact that I had 3more children afta my 1st an I cnt be the mom i wnt 2b coz Im scared sum1 gna steal them away. Im depressed bt im scared 2speak up coz they will take my kids. My hearts broken....
