In Need Of Help With Amp In Trunk .

I have a subwoofer in my trunk and i need to unhook it...?

Do you need to remove the amp from the back of the seat, or just remove the sub box?

If you just need to remove the box, you don't have to disconnect the power from the amp. Just disconnect the speaker wire from the sub box, and tape off the ends of the wire so they can't short on anything. There's no problem with keeping power on the amp while the box is disconnected.

If you need to remove the amp, start by removing the fuse from the power wire near the battery. After that you can disconnect all the wires from the amplifier terminals and remove the amp. The only wire that needs to be taped up is the small wire on the "remote" terminal; this wire is often blue, and should be connected near the main power and ground wires. You don't have to tape off the power, ground, or speaker wires as long as there's no fuse in the fuse holder near the battery.

Need help running wire from battery to amp in trunk on 2000 VW Beetle?

Right behind the gas pedals there should be a little hole I dunno what the hole is for but you can put the power wire through it and run it to the trunk.

I locked my keys in the trunk. What should I do?

This happened to me...twice. I only have one key so I was kind of screwed. The first time, my driver side window was opened by about an inch, luckily. We ended up calling the RAC. The guy had a strong metal wire with a hook on the end. He used this to pull down the rear seats (it was a hatchback with an easily accessible lever to fold the rear seats next to the head rest). He then fished the keys out. The second time, the car was completely locked so he were forced to call a locksmith. He picked the lock on the driver side of the car using a special tool (the can has an immobilizer but no alarm). This costed around £90 to do. He then made two new keys for us. This costed an additional £135. So now we have two keys on top of the original. It would have cost more if he also had to program the keys but mine didn't have any chips in them. To conclude,If all else fails, call a locksmith that knows what they are doing and ask them to make a spare key, even if it is not programmed (to save money).   This way, you can't start the car, but At least you can unlock if it you need to.

Would 2 15' subs fit in a 05 ford focus trunk?

I don't think it will fit man, a sub box for 2 15' subs is close to 19' tall and I doubt your trunk is that high. Maybe you should go with 4 12' subs or 2 12' subs that are a good brand. A lot of the 15' subs that are available are pretty low quality, get 2 12' from a major brand (Audiobahn, Alpine, JL etc) and you'll be satisfied with them.

What should you do if you lock your keys in your trunk?

For the sake of convenience and completely negating the chance of you damaging your car, i would say call someone for assistance. This could be a local locksmith, AAA or even the police. If however you want to try a cost-effective DIY method first, keep reading and let me see if i can give you some pointers.First of all, are any of your doors open? If your keys are locked in the trunk it does not necessarily mean that your other car doors are locked as well. If any of the other doors are open then you might be in luck (depending on the make and model of your car) because you should be able to access the trunk of your car from the backseat. In my car for instance (2007 solara) there is a latch that rests on the middle backseat that i can pull to gain access to the trunk of my car. However, like i said earlier, this only solves your problem if your car is equipped for this. But fret not, there is still very likely a solution for you. If one of your doors is still open you can merely use the latch that is most likely located in the front seat of the car to pop the trunk open. This solution is also dependent on whether or not your car is a much older model or if your doors are even open in the first place. There are many variables that come into play that each demand a different solution. If all the car doors are locked and you know you can access the trunk if the doors are opened then you need to focus on getting the doors opened so that you can, in turn, get the trunk opened and gain access to your keys. There are many ways to regain entry to your car (use of slip knots, probes, slim jim's and other materials you can easily come across) and each of these can be used to help you get your keys out of your trunk. However, if your car model is not suited for any of the above methods then you should look to calling a locksmith as was stated earlier. If you have not been able to gain entry to your car and a technician has no luck doing the same, then they will have to drill a hole in the trunk of your car to allow it to be opened. This act exposes a wire in the trunk that enables the trunk to be opened and then your problem would have been solved. In addition to these there a plethora of tips that can help you in this situation and also help you avoid being stuck in a situation like that altogether. How do I install an amplifier in the trunk of a 2002 Ford Taurus?

I own a 2002 Ford Taurus, which I already installed an after market radio in. I'd like to install a 4 channel amplifier in the trunk to drive new speakers I also plan on installing.

I understand that I need to run a wire from the battery to the trunk in order to power it, but I am not entirely sure how to get it through the firewall of the car. I have read generalized instructions that say to look for an opening where wires are already coming through, but I can't find any. I have also read about drilling through the firewall and installing a rubber grommet, but I am not entirely sure how to go about doing that because there does not seem theres any good places in the area between the bottom of the dash and the floor.

So basically if anyone here has installed an amp in their Taurus' trunk, I'd like to know how you did it. Or, perhaps there is a website that could give me some ideas?

How to remove subwoofer from trunk?

First take the fuse out from the power cable, disconnect the power cable on the amplifier, if you have the amplifier mounted on the box, if you have it mounted on the back seat is a lot simple disconnect the speaker wires take the subs out is that simple if you have the amplifier mounted on the box, than you need disconnect the positive and negative cable first, than disconnect the RCA cables, and remote wire always take the fuse out before you do anything to it, otherwise the fuse will be blown out. It's pretty simple to do, sometimes people have the box mounted on the car then that's going to be a little hard to do, you might need take out the subs fist from the box, than find the screw under the box, unscrew it than take the box out. I don't really like to do that way is a lot of work all that, if I am going it, I would screw 2 plain wood on the car fist than build the box the bottom edge make it longer and screw that part to the plain wood which I have already attached to the car, be sure to add some razor blade to it or needles, which protect the others to steal it from you. But, yea, I don't know how the people instilled it all that, the basic is disconnect all the wires and take the subs out.

When watering trees, is it better to target the trunk or the leaves?

Viola and Bill make good points, however, How a tree is watered will vary great based on the climate, age and type of tree. Some mature trees need almost no watering, because their root systems are so extensive (hundreds of feet), they can hunt down water very efficiently.  In fact, you probably wouldn't be able to supply it's needs through irrigation if you had too.The complete opposite is a small tree in a pot.  You will have to regularly water the pot or the tree will quickly exhaust it's supplies and die.   For most trees, a moderate approach is the key.  Most drip systems for trees will run the drip line in a circle around the tree roughly at the edge of the canopy to simulate rainfall falling off the leaves.  This is effective and would support other thoughts on the subject, however I think this is best for young trees, but in the long run may not promote deep root systems.  When rainfalls, and percolates into the landscape It will fall everywhere, but close to the trunk.I believe the best way to provide water to a tree is through the use of water slowing Swales.  I've borrowed and am crediting Midwest Permaculture with this diagram This method will promote hydrating the subsoil thus making the water available for the tree to find by growing its roots. If this doesn't fit your plan, you can dig or hill a trench around the tree and fill it with mulch.  Then irrigate into the trench.  Here is another borrowed image from Home | Greywater Action:
