In Some Films There Is More Than 1 Producer How Do We Know Wich One Started It All

How does someone get started as a film producer? Do you option a book and then try to have a screenplay written for it?

Produce a film. I feel like a lot of my answers to "how can I become X" come off as glib, but I mean them sincerely. No one hires producers. You can't apply to interview to be a producer. There aren't job fairs, or a magic degree, or a standardized internship program. Asking "How can I become a film producer" is like answering "how can I become an entrepreneur?" Anyone can become a film producer, just produce a film. If you want to be a producer start producing things. Start making short films, or experimental films, or YouTube shows, or Vines, or fringe theatre shows. Start making friends with people who are writing, or acting, or directing those things. If you're somewhere that doesn't *have* an artist community, or an actor community, or independant theatre or film scene, ask yourself how you can *create* those things. Start studying as much as you can about how the independant film industry works in your country. Start figuring out who the producers are whose work you love, or are big successes in your country/state/province and study *their* careers. "Producing" covers a *lot* of ground - are you more interested by creative areas (looking for scripts, discovering talent, collaborating with artists) or business ones (negotiating deals, putting together innovative financing schemes, budgeting and scheduling)? Film school can be an important tool in developing producer chops - but you'll get significantly more out of it if you're doing all these things *before* going to film school  to get the most from assignments and classes. Depending on your country you may be better served by going to Law School instead (in certain countries almost all producers are also Lawyers). Or - depending on what aspect of film interests you - you may be better served by going to Business school, or getting an MBA. But absolutely none of this is a barrier to entry, at some point every working film producer has simply declared themself "a film producer" and set out to try to make a living by producing some films.

How can I contact any director or producer if I want to show them my own created story or script?

You must have already learnt that it is difficult to find a known director or producer. That does not mean there is no real option for you.The method I propose is quite lengthy but likely to pay off.The industry isn’t small and there are about 1200 films made each year in our country. So many producers already pay writers for their story, not all of them are famous (they can be profitable).I would suggest you to look for such small time producers/directors. These people may have the money or have someone ready to invest in their projects. But, lucky for you these people don’t have so much of an influx of stories or screenplay. You can find such people everywhere. Just search for producer on Quora and there are so many people already in the industry answering questions and enjoying themselves.Once you have found them on some platform like Quora, LinkedIn, Facebook or even Instagram, just build a relationship with them. You can even jump in with your elevator pitch in the DM.I would suggest you to copyright your screenplay first. You are very likely to come across some people with the resources to invest in your project. Don’t be turned off if many don’t.

How does the producer of a Bollywood movie make money?

1) Supply Chain - Just like any other business, Bollywood movies also have if what i may call a supply chain. The producer produces a product (the movie) and sells the movie to distributors all over India. Each movie has different prices depending on the star cast, the money put into making the film and the revenue it expects to earn. Let's assume, The movie was made for 50Cr, i.e. The producer has invested that much money. Continuing the assumption, there are three distributors, to buy the movie for distribution, each one has to pay 25Cr. Hence, 25x3 =75. The producer has made 25 Cr. in this virtual example. The distributors then distribute to individual screens (see as retailers) and recover their money and margins. 2) Sponsorship - Many a times you'll find product advertisements in movies. It's called product placement. Producers are paid quite a bit for that as well. E.g. 1) PNB MetLife in Happy New Year. 2) Scorpio in Singham 23) Nokia in Chennai Express4) Make My Trip in Yeh Jawaani Hai DewaaniThe brands pay the producers well for these product placements. The answer is  little superficial and i apologize for that, but i hope i was able to answer the query :)

How does one become a movie producer?

There is no common path. There is no one way to define success. The Success: Well producing puts the 'Suc" in s Success. To start rolling a camera on set is a success. To get a film finish is success.  To get it into a fim festival is a success. To get it in a theater is a success. To win an award is a success.   Basically,  any step is a success, except one thing....to make money at it, then you actually got lucky. That brings me to "The Path":The easiest way to be a producer is to have the money.  There are a few children of wealthily business men that have decided to make Hollywood their playground as producers and sometimes they act in the films they finance as well.   This is the most common path, the person who brings the money gets to do what they want. There are other ways to become a producer... Get the rights to a book (or script, or news story, etc.) that everyone want to see as a film... the one that controls the rights gets to do what they want. The other way to become a producer is the production side...  either through the Assistant Director, Unit Production Manager, accounting route.  The other path is the studio, agent route...  A few agents, managers and studio executives become producers.... But the best suggestion I have is make money in another area, like a website... and sell it and use that money to produce great films... but make sure you hire people that know what they are doing.

How does a person become a movie producer?

Short answer?

All you need to be a producer is an idea and the drive to make it happen. Seriously, it's that simple.

Long answer?

First you need a script. Is one written yet? If not, write it. If you can't write, hire someone to do it for you. Don't even have an idea for a story? Go buy one. Obtain the rights to someone else's story. Option an already written script. Don't see one you like? Pick a book you like and buy the rights to that. Or someone's life story. Or an old television series you want to make into a film. Doesn't matter how you do it, just get a script.

Okay, now what? Well, to make a movie you need money. Are you rich? Pay for the movie yourself. Aren't rich? Well, now you have two options. Make friends with someone who *is* rich and have him pay for the production. Or make friends with a lot of people who aren't rich, but will give you a few bucks to help out. Don't want to be an indie producer? Go to Hollywood and talk to a studio. If they like your idea then *they'll* pay for the production.

Once your movie is in the can, you need a release. First, you need prints - copies of your movie to give to theaters. You budgeted for that earlier, right? And advertising, gotta let people know about the movie, right? If you're indie, that's all your responsibility. If you're studio, there are people to handle it. Either way, guess what... now you're a producer. Welcome to the movies.

(btw - that was all about creative producing. there's also *line* producing, which is more about actual physical production than project development. feel free to email me if you have questions.)
