In Texas Is It Possible To Give Up Parental Rights And Pay Child Support

Giving up parental rights and child support?

Hey y'all, the father of my unborn child says he doesn't want anything to do with the baby, that he will only pay for it financially. I live in Texas so I'm not sure how that legal stuff works.
Do I have to hire a lawyer in order for him to give up his rights legally?
If this happens, how will it affect child support?
I'm not planning to put his name on the birth certificate, so would it be harder to file for child support?

Can I give up parental rights before the baby is born?

I've recently gotten a girl pregnant who does not want me in her life or the babies. I've been thinking lately, she's only about a month pregnant, that maybe if I could sign over my parental rights that it will make this process a little easier for both of us. Is there anyway I can sign over rights before the baby is born? Do I need a lawyer to do this? Can rights only be signed over in court? Would I still need to pay child support if all rights were removed? I know this situation sounds sticky and it is, but please can you be kind and helpful? Thank you. Also, I live in New Jersey if that makes any difference. Thanks again.

Can a father disown a child and not have to pay child support in texas?

No.

To "disown" means to disinherit. This means that a father can write a will that specifically states a child is not entitled to inherit a single thing when the father dies.

Even if a father disinherits his child, he is still legally and morally required to support that child until that child reaches adulthood.

Can i put child support on myself and able to see my daughter?

my daughter is just 7 months and me and her mother just broke up, i know for a fact that she wont put child support on me because she will do anything possible in order for me not to see my baby, so can i put it on myself and can i see my daugther if i do so? where can i start? I LIVE IN TEXAS by the way.

thanks for any help

In the state of Kentucky, can a father give up his parental rights to avoid paying child support?

He can choose to relinquish his rights to visitation and custody, but he cannot unilaterally absolve himself of the obligation to support his child.

He may petition the Court to reduce or eliminate his child support obligation, but he would have to prove that doing so would be in the best interest of the child. (Don't think that will work!)

Go to the state's child support agency website to see the child support guidelines in your state. The state is still pursuing the deadbeat. The court will have its say on the matter.

In the meantime, your friend does not have to listen to an idiot. When he says stupid things, she can feel good about not being with him anymore.
