In The Future Will All Dangerous Animals Only Be Living In Zoos

Is man the most dangerous animal?

Humans are the most dangerous animal on earth. We have killed more of our own kind than any other animal on earth. We have destroyed more ecosystems than any other animal. We have made species extinct more than any other animal. Unlike any animal on earth man has created things never found in nature that kills. No animal on earth other than man has created bombs, poisonous chemicals, bio-toxins, cars, planes, heavy machinery and all the other billions of things that kill directly or indirectly. When people think of a dangerous animal they think about how physically powerful it is and how savage it can be. Humans may be frail and weak compared to large wild animals but we can be extremely savage. The interesting thing is that man is deadly in numbers and with technology. Put a unarmed human naked in the wilderness with zero primitive or modern survival skills and he’s dead meat. He would have less chance of survival than a rabbit. I have known of people who were an office cube worker who had no knowledge of the wilderness, weapons, traps , snares, animals, shelters, etc; found dead of exposure and starvation right next to abundant natural foods. Humans are becoming less self sufficient, resourceful and less able to survive on their own. So the average human isn’t the most deadly animal on earth, it’s the human species as a whole.

Is it true that Australia is full of dangerous animals? If yes, how can Australia citizens live safely?

The same way people everywhere else do. Yes, those animals live here, but just like in the United States and Europe and everywhere else, you generally have to go out of your way to have an encounter with anything dangerous. We mostly only see those animals on TV or in zoos!Yes, you have to exercise some commonsense precautions when you go to certain places (eg waterholes), but if you visit Australia, by far your biggest concerns should be the road (traffic accidents), the sun (wear sunscreen!), and the risk of drowning - not the wildlife. If you’re on vacation, you’re highly unlikely to see any snakes or spiders, unless you go out of your way to see them at a wildlife park or zoo. I grew up in the Outback, and the few times I’ve seen a snake were out camping in the desert (one poisonous brown snake), and gardening in the sub-tropics (a few carpet pythons - not poisonous), neither of which I imagine you’ll do on vacation. I’ve only seen one venomous spider in my life, and that was a red-back spider in the outback, gardening in the red sand of the desert near Mildura. I’ve never seen a funnel-web spider.I’ve seen many kangaroos, which aren’t dangerous unless you hit them with your car. Sightings in urban areas aren’t common, which is why the youtube videos go viral - they’re unusual! In the ocean, as others have said, swim between the flags and you’re unlikely to go wrong. We have volunteer lifeguards at beaches all over the nation, marking the safest portions of ocean for swimming - monitoring primarily for currents and keeping an eye on people getting into trouble in the surf, but also jellyfish and sharks. They do an amazing job!I really wish my fellow Aussies wouldn’t wind others up about how dangerous it is here. They think it’s funny, but I know that it deters people from visiting.Honestly, in my day-to-day life, I never even think about our wildlife, except to be reminded occasionally at how blessed we are, when I’m video-chatting with Dan Holliday and he asks “what’s that noise?”, and it’s a bunch of sulphur-crested cockatoos in the palm tree outside my window. :)

Do you think animals like being in zoos?

Zoos are similar to prisons:Yes, you’re relatively safe and you get regular meals, but you’re incarcerated for life, riven with pathological ennui, isolation, homesickness, and soul-slaying loneliness. No, they don’t like being in zoos; they want to be free, as they —and all— are intended to be. Captivity is a terrible thing.

Do Animals belong in zoos?

I am doing a persuasive speech on why we shouldn't keep animals in the zoos because they are being deprived of their own habitat. What is your opinion on this and what is your input!

Do zoo animals try to escape?

Very rarely would they try to escape.  Zoo animals are kept in surrounding that, while small, are ideal for their bodies.  Zoologists have studied how to keep them, and 8'x10' cells are out.  Those are only for keeping humans, when they're sent to prisons. While they live in zoos, animals get fed (a LOT) and never have to do anything for it.  They don't have to run anywhere.  Many zoo residents regularly get overfed and were getting morbidly obese until only this century, when some scientists and biologists have been putting them on diets to equal their input and their output.  An animal will not stop eating when it's full; it eats everything.  It 'knows' that it has no idea when its next meal will come, so it eats what's there, even if it had been on a regular feeding schedule by people for the last 10 years.Connecting Health in Animals and Humans | Zoobiquity.com

Why is it bad to keep animals in zoo's?

I know loads of reasons for keeping animals in zoo's but, I have to write a speech about why it is bad to keep animals in zoo's. Help?!
I just need ideas or a speech.

Should animals be kept in zoos?why?

im doing a debate in school and i want to know what you think of people taking captivity of animals.
im going against zoos because im reading alot of articles and it seems like the more zoos the more animals that are in danger
1 dolphins orcas killer whales have been dieing becuase of stress related situation like being forced to perform on stage mostly when there under stress they more likley can disease
2 in alot entertainment company's they have a secret that they keep from public that everytime you buy a ticket to see them perform it increases the slaughter of killer whales etc
yes i know some zoos keep anime because of the endangerment but in some cases some animals are getting instinct because of the zoos.i say if there endangered dont put them under stress let them breed take them back to the wild. example the killer whales lasts very long in the wild but 60 - 80 years old but in zoos they last about 4 years.killer whales have killed some humans in some cases but mostly are really accidental but in zoos the most likley have been done on purpose.. there so much information i want to shae but to much to type tell me what you think

Is it good to keep animals in a zoo and why? ?

It is not only good, in some cases it is essential. Zoos are vital for education and conservation. Without captive breeding, many endangered species would now be extinct - for example, the golden lion tamarin, red wolf and Przewalski's horse. I am not for a moment suggesting that we should stop trying to protect animals' natural habitats, but if endangered species were to become extinct in the wild (which sadly seems quite likely in the near future), zoos will have preserved them for future generations, with enough genetic diversity that the possibility for reintroduction to the wild exists. In my opinion it would be unforgivable to allow tigers, pandas and so on to become extinct because they were wiped out in the wild due to hunting, habitat loss, etc., and people did not want to see them in captivity. Would you like to explain to your children or grandchildren that they will never see a tiger except in pictures, because you disagreed with zoos?

It's true that captive conditions in the past were often cruel, the animals being kept in cramped cages and so on, but today all good zoos are carefully regulated - the animals are kept in conditions as close as possible to their natural habitat, with plenty of space, good diets and immediate medical care if they need it. Everything possible is done to ensure that they don't get bored - environmental enrichment is found in all good zoos. The animals will have scenery in their enclosure, things to play with if they're a playful species, and problems to solve in order to get their food, rather than it just being dropped in front of them.

It's important to remember that animals in zoos are captive-bred - they have not been taken from the wild and 'locked up in cages'. They were born in captivity and have known nothing else. They do not miss the wild, since they have no idea such a thing exists, and are certainly not unhappy - if they were, zoos would not achieve the breeding success they do (unhappy or unhealthy animals do not breed). One might even argue that they are better off in captivity, since they do not have to contend with the constant dangers of the wild - disease, injury, predation, starvation, etc.

Do animal people hate zoos?

I know that a lot of people hate the stink of zoo animals. You really think other people don't? If you love animals, but only enjoy them in pictures answer my question. Good luck.
