In The Uk What Is The Legal Age To Go On Holiday On Your Own

Is it illegal to run away from home in the UK at the age of 16?

I want to know what the law and government will do to you if you run away at the age of 16 and hide out. Will i be forced to go back to my house and will i get a criminal record for doing so? Or will i be put in a care home or have foster parents or anything?
I have a dysfunctional family at home with my parents arguing most of the time (these can get really bad sometimes- like things being thrown around and walls punched at stuff) Ive already tried speaking to them but i just dont think it works. Its also the summer holidays right now and im moving to a college in september so i dont really have anyone to speak to about this. In the past my mum has hot me before where i have gotten bruises and black eyes, but thats in the past and it hasnt happened for a while. Ive considered running away for a while now, and i know its not the smartest thing to do, but i feel like its my only option to get out of this house as im really unhappy here.

Any advice would be much appreciated x

Is it legal to take someone else's passport [as well as your own] abroad?

Speaking hypothetically, although it may be technically legal to carry another persons passport with you transporting it to a foreign country is, in most cases, illegal. Being found with a passport other than your own will, especially in this post 9-11 world create significant headaches and at the very least, being expelled from the country you are in and possibly deported home. At home you could find your ability to carry even your own passport prohibited.

The only acceptable "excuse" would be when you are travelling together and one person is carrying the passports for a group. However the individual would have to be with you or travelling with you during your trip. If the person was not in the country it would generally be assumed that you were carrying the passport for an illegal purpose and you would be subject to the laws of that country.

If you were to attempt to use it that would be fraud and you could be prosecuted under the laws of the country. Since a passport carries a picture of the person you would either have to attempt to modify the picture or your appearance. In both cases that is a criminal offence in most, if not all, countries.

Minimum acceptable age to go on holiday without parents...?

well i was seventeen when i went on my first holiday abroad , but i had left home as well , that was twenty years ago ,there are more dangers around now , so i would say eighteen ,but with a friend

Can I legally be forced into going to church?

Hey I'm 16 and my parents are forcing me to go to church every week. They have forced me to go since the age of 8. I 100% do not believe in Christianity as I looked in judaism years ago and have since heavily practiced it and it's traditions/holidays. My parents are heavy believers in Christianity and are forcing me to church every week. So everytime I go it feels like 3 hours of being told that personal beliefs are wrong and that if I don't accept Jesus I will burn in hell for all of eternity. I hate to admit but this heavily depresses me as I find myself waking up depressed on Sunday mornings and even going to sleep depressed later that night. What's worse is that people within the high school ministry found out about my beliefs so now they persecute for them and constantly tell me I'm wrong and make fun of me for beliefs, to my face. This all has lead me to consider suicide on many occasions which scares me greatly. I have told my parents about this many times but they still make me go, believing that I will eventually convert. Do you all think I am obligated to go and is it still morally correct for my parents to force me to go?

Age of consent when traveling / in a country other than your own?

Perhaps seems like a bit of an odd question, and an odd pondering for me to have, but I am curious.

Say for instance you are from a country in which the age of consent is greater than your own age. When in another country with a lesser age of consent (one that falls below your own age), is sex with someone significantly (>4 year grace gap, I mean) older than you legally permissible?

[Please, no lectures. I'm asking out of curiosity, not because I am a. below my country's legal age of constent, or b. taking a trip to another country with my legs spread open.]
