In The Wii System Does It And

MY Wii GAME IS STUCK IN THE Wii SYSTEM!?

no, don't open it. It will screw it up. The CD drive is separate from the console so it won't help opening it.

There is the black furry plastic stuff in front of the drive to prevent dust from getting in. Try pulling the furry stuff to the side to see inside the drive from the front.

Then point a flash light and see if you can see the disk. And the drive. Also see what happens when you press eject. Does it make any noise or does it do absolutely nothing. Maybe the button is broken then.

Call nintendo at 1800-255-3700 and ask them what is wrong. If your wii was bought less then 1 year ago then they will repair it for free and pay for shipping.

If its over 1 year old then they will charge around $85 for the repair (maybe more for the shipping)

If you don't want to repair it from them if not under warranty then I would try pulling the furry stuff in front of the disk drive opening to the side (maybe try with paper clips or tape)

Then get some tweezers and slowly pull the disk out if you can see it. Don't put anything else sharp in and only hold the tip of the disk to prevent damage inside

How long does a Wii System Update take?

It depends on HOW you're installing the update.

If you're going through an internet update, it's dependent on your connection... so it can take anywhere from 5 - 20 minutes in addition to the installation.

If you're going through a disc update, you won't have to deal with the downloads, but it can still take anywhere from 5 - 20 minutes depending on how far it has to update your Wii.

Going from Wii Menu 2.0 to 4.3 will take longer than going from Wii Menu 4.2 to 4.3 as there's more stuff to update.

Please be aware that these are only ball-park estimates. The actual time required for updates can vary greatly, so all you can do is just be patient.

How long does Wii System Update take?

It doesn't take long. About 10 minutes at the maximum.

If you have a mod chip installed in your Wii it can take an hour before the mod chip is detected and then it will brick your system. If you still have the option to update and you have a mod chip then decline - which means you cannot play the game.

What does "Format Wii System Memory" do?

I wanted to try it once but it said that all game saves would be lost, all channels would be lost and that even it I had them saved on something, they could not be reinstalled. Im just curios what this is and why it would do so much bad stuff. I bought my wii used and I have no idea what was done with it before. Sometimes when im on the internet channel it will pop up and say "unable to load page out of memory." What does that mean. I appreciate your help. Thanks!

How do I enable javascript for my Wii system?

The reason you can't figure it out is because you actually CAN'T figure it out. Notice the web browser that you used to type this question. Mozzilla Firefox, maybe internet explorer, or how about google chrome. These are on a computer which is specialized for internet so these browsers can have java script. But have you noticed what internet browser the wii has? Opera, proabably the worst internet browser. On the dsi you can't even play flash stuff which on the wii you can do. You can watch videos with flash and stuff but not java. You know how the wii uses a wireless internet connection? Well, obviously its alot slower than a wired one, also even though the browser can play flash it can barely do that (slow videos and such) and if it can barely do that the browser won't even have a chance to run java.

Now you could do the homebrew hack. It's illegal and WILL remove your wii's warranty and will often delete game save data, and might even make your wii crash so I really reccommend not to do that. I am just guessing, but I think you want to play runescape on it? If so, then even if it could there would be no point because the typing would be slow and your character would probaly be passed by a snail.

Can Nintendo Switch games work with the Nintendo Wii system?

No, Nintendo Switch games will not work with the Wii and Wii games will not work with the Switch. The Switch uses cartridges (called Game Cards) while the Wii uses discs. The Switch does not have a disc reader and the Wii does not have a cartridge reader. The Wii Shop Channel is also disconnected from the Nintendo Switch eShop, so digital games cannot transfer.

Should I perform a Wii System Update?

The update should be alright, a few things will not work right without the update to my understanding. I think you need the updates to play games online, or to download Virtual Console games. Just don't do it during a thunder storm or something where it might get half-done and then lose power in the middle of updating files.

If you put your wii games into a different wii system does anything happen?

No, your data is stored on a Wii by using something called blocks. The disc is only for playing and the blocks(data) is stored on your Wii. If you were to bring a game disc to a friends house then it would be like starting a new game at there house. But once you use it again at your house you will have in the exact same game as you had before hand. :) nothing to worry about.

What are the differences between Nintendo Wii and Nintendo Wii U?

CPU:Wii: Single-core, 32-bit, PowerPC-based Broadway microprocessor @ 729MHz.Wii U: Triple-core, 32-bit, PowerPC-based Espresso microprocessor @ 1.243GHz.RAM:Wii: 88MB total.Wii U: 2GB total, 1GB reserved for OS.Internal storage:Wii: 512MBWii U: 8GB-32GB depending on model.Graphics:Wii: 243 MHz ATI "Hollywood"Wii U: 550 MHz AMD Radeon "Latte"Supported media:Wii: GCN games (only on older models), Wii games.Wii U: Wii games, Wii U games.Supported controllers:Wii: Wii Remote, GCN controller (only on older models), Classic Controller.Wii U: Wii U gamepad, Wii remote, Classic Controller, Wii U Pro controller. (GCN controllers are supported in one game, and that requires an extra peripheral.)Connectivity options:Wii: AV multi-out supporting SCART, Component, or Composite cables. 2 USB 2.0 ports. SD card slot. 2 GCN memory card slots (only on older models).Wii U: HDMI out, AV multi-out supporting SCART, Component, or Composite cables. 4 USB 2.0 ports. SD card slot.To sum it up… in terms of hardware, the Wii U is a really souped-up Wii, which itself was a really souped-up GameCube. The only reason they didn’t have backwards compatibility all the way to the GameCube is because they’d already removed that functionality from later Wii systems in a cost-cutting measure because didn’t want to bother including the ports and memory card slots for a decade-old system. Additionally, they added some GameCube games to the Virtual Console, which probably actually made them a little money.Other than that, the GamePad really is the main selling point of the system. It basically lets you play some games without having the TV available, lets you use a stylus like you do on the 3DS in others, and most often acts as an internal game menu that doesn’t require you to pause the game.

Can the Nintendo Wii play DVD movies?

No: Most likely because by the time Wii was released, stand-alone DVD players were already pretty cheap, streaming was just starting to become popular (Wii was one of the first gaming devices to have a Netflix app, before even Xbox 360) and Nintendo would have had to pay a per-device license fee for DVD functionality which would have just added cost to the system for something not everyone would use.
