How do I value stolen photos and articles for insurance claim?

My house was broken into and my laptop and digital camera were stolen. I am a freelance writer and had several articles in the works and finished as well as a couple of hundred digital photos. (I hadn't backed up my work in about 2 months.) Some were just of my family (like my daughter's 4th birthday party), but others were taken to go with the articles...

Many of these would have been sold, but I have no idea what each one would have brought me in income. My insurance agent was not helpful when I asked how to write these down and value them (of course, because she doesn't want to pay out, right?) but she didn't say 'those aren't covered' or 'you can't claim those'.

Anyway, does anyone have any ideas about how I write this down?

Are you now taking more photographs then ever before, but making far fewer prints?

Back in the film-using years of my career, there were a few times — like maybe three — when I happened to rub elbows with international-level professional photographers at different events, once in the US & twice in Africa. They had much better cameras and a LOT higher film budget. So while they could shoot clickety-click with their motor drives and I had to watch for just the right instant to get one or two shots, I knew enough to pick the same location, and I got almost exactly the same photo as the Paris Match cover or in the NatGeo article. (OK, National Geographic guys — they were all guys in those days, of course — did have longer lenses, I have to admit.)Now, with digital cameras, I can always shoot as many images as I want, and hope that one or two will be keepers. But generally I don’t, or at least not much. I still wait for that perfect moment, so I’m really not shooting all that many more photos. As others have noted, the biggest digital difference may be that we now physically print fewer but bigger prints, thanks to high-quality but relatively cheap equipment and materials. Even that, I’m afraid, will disappear in time, and an actual physical print will be rare. Some kind of paper-thin screen will be hanging on the wall instead. And why not?
