When it comes to culture, Indian culture is not considered as Asian. Mostly China, Japan, Malaysia , Singapore, Vietnam cultures are considered Asian.I think the culture of Indian subcontinent is totally different to the rest of the countries in Asia. Indian culture has a name, fame, recognition beyond Asian continent. So some times while Americans or Europeans representing Asia, they mean Chinese, Japanese, Vietnamese, Thai, Malaysians etc. For example if they see a photo in which a person who have Chinese or Japanese like face, they say them as Asian. But when they see brown colored person, they say it as a person from Indian subcontinent. They really don't think at that time that India is also a part of Asia.In terms of geography and economy, yes India is considered as the country in Asia.

yes, it is part of asia. just because it is not part of the mainland asia (china, mongolia, etc) it is part of asia. I fyou thought that it may be part of the pacific islands, that is an easy-to-make mistake, but it is not. Firstly, it is oriental and also the culture and the people historically come from mainland so it basically counts for being "asia". Are India and Pakistan part of the middle East?
I'm 14,and I live in Pakistan. I'm never sure if I should call it part of the middle east,or just part of Asia 0.o I've asked a bunch of people,but they all gave me different answers. I don't want to call it Asia,just because people always assume I mean China or Korea or something when I say that. But when I say "Middle east",people assume I mean Dubai,etc. I know this is a random and kind of stupid question,but please answer :) Racist jokes will be ignored,I'm used to them :P
