In Wolverine Inmortal Logan Loses His Clawns Of Adamantium But In X-men Days Of Future Past He Has

X-men days of future past explanations?

so i just watched days of future past and the movie is just as confusing as the title. The main problem i have with it is understanding the motives of mistique, magneto, and charles/logan etc.
So they broke magneto out of confinement to help them change the future (what they were planning to do, I dont know.) Why did Erik suddenly turn against Logan and Charles? Erik wanted to kill mistique to prevent the midget from getting her DNA, right? So she wanted to kill him because he tried to do the same to her? Why was mistique resquing the military mutants at the camp? Since when can kitty send people's minds through time? Was she just sitting there focusing on Logan for however many days he was in the 70s? I realize that the process might have just been a few minutes or hours, but it seemed like Logan was reacting to drowning in real time. Dis moovie got me twisted.

If Wolverine never took the adamantium, would he be immortal?

Very likely. I mean, he wouldn’t probably age and his lifespan would increase. It is assumed that, after 50 years of exposure to adamantium, Wolverine’s healing factor starts to loose his strenght. But he would probably not live for ever. He would die of other causes. There are many ways for Wolverine to die (in the movie canon). He almost died in the following situations:Rogue: Touching in Rogue’s skin can kill. Wolverine nearly died, just to save her.Magneto: Magneto could have disimbouled Wolverine. However, that is mainly because of the Adamantium on his skeleton. As this is not happening in the situations we are annalysing, we can skip this one.Charles Xavier: The telepathy of Charles Xavier can induce brain failure, and seizures in others that are around. Wolverine as shown some resistance to this, but even he would succumb after long exposure.Jean Grey: The fast healing of Wolverine can protect him from Jean Grey’s desintegrative powers, but not for long.Mutant cure: Once he is “cured” his powers will get either diminished or will disappear all together. In that way, the possibilities of killing him grow exponentially.Brain destruction (decapitation): Decapitating Wolverine is probably the most definite way to kill him. Without the brain, your body won’t receive the information required to heal.Explosion: A sufficiently large explosion, that disintegrates his entire body will kill him.Viper’s parasite: In The Wolverine, the mutant Viper injects Wolverine with a robotic parasite that pumps a substance to his heart. This substance is capable of counteracting his healing factor, and diminishes his rate of healing.Silver Samurai: This robot, controlled by Ichiro Yashida, is designed just to defeat and seemingly kill Wolverine. His flaming sword is easily capable of cutting Wolverine to death. Also, the Silver Samurai can “suck” the lifeforce of Wolverine, transferring the healing factor of the mutant to Ichiro Yashida.Viper’s toxins: Wolverine is largely immune to various toxins. However, Viper’s can affect Wolverine’s immune system.Hunger (thirst): I’m pretty sure Wolverine will die, if he his deprived of food and water.Drowning: Wolverine could die if he spends too much time without oxygen.Sentinels: Sentinels have various powers, and they can be able to kill Wolverine. So, has you can see, the most likely is that he wouldn’t be immortal. Also, he may not last for long, as well!

How did Wolverine regain his adamantium claws?

In the comics he had to face Sabretooth (who had an adamantium skeleton at the time) in a one on one fight staged by Apocalypse and the result of that would mean that the winner would receive the “honour” of becoming one of Apocalypse’s Four Horsemen, specifically Death. At the time of being led into the battle Wolverine wasn’t aware of that but Sabretooth explained it to him; That led on to Wolverine realising that he absolutely had to win the fight which, obviously, he did;As he’s saying there, he would at least fight against the brainwashing that Apocalypse would put him under but Sabretooth wouldn’t fight against it. Hell, it’d be debateable if Creed would even need to be put under any brainwashing as he’d, like Wolverine says, relish the killing. And, just to round that off, here he is in his Death armour;Although he’s not got his claws unsheathed in that image it’s definitely how he got his adamantium skeleton/claws back.As for the films then no official explanation was ever given. The closest we got to one was from X-Men: Days of Future Past director Bryan Singer who said that Magneto “could perhaps have reconstituted the admantium claws. He has a different relationship with Magneto and perhaps Magneto could forge them.” So, basically, even Bryan Singer wasn’t sure how he’d regained his adamantium claws and simply gave a possibility of how he could have got them back. It’s an entirely plausible explanation but as it wasn’t given on screen nor in deleted scenes or associated comic book tie-ins then it’s not an actual explanation.

How could Wolverine survive Jean Grey's powers in X-Men Last Stand but En Sabah Nur couldn't in X-Men Apocalypse?

Actually it wasn’t Wolverine’s healing that saved him, it was admantium. Jean was pretty easily disintegrating his skin and muscles but couldn’t do much to his skeleton, which had a layer of admantium on it. Here’s the scene-It doesn’t undermine Phoenix’s power at all. It goes to show just how durable admantium is.Not to mention that its completely possible that Phoenix was subconsciously trying not to kill Logan. She did, after all, ask Logan to kill her. Maybe it was Jean inside the Phoenix who was holding back.

Why wolverine dies in the movie "Logan" although he is considered immortal?

At the end of Logan, Wolverine dies. Unquestionably dies. He’s killed, and not a single rock on his grave moves as a teaser for a possible return. The reasons for the death of Logan are:First, the fact that Logan's ultimate killer was a clone of himself was a very big deal. Throughout the character's entire run his biggest fight was with the demons inside of him. He could never seem to escape his dark past, although he was constantly trying.Earlier in the film, Logan talks a lot about killing himself. He claims he could never live with himself because of the terrible things he'd done.X-24 was a direct clone of Logan, and one that seemed to resemble the more classic look of Wolverine. This was symbolizing Logan's past finally catching up with him, and taking his life just like he had discussed.Second, Logan's ending saw the character finally live up to the potential that Charles saw in him from day one. At the beginning of the first X-Men film, Xavier revealed that he knew Wolverine would one day be a leader. While we saw that in the other films, Logan saw the character truly step in, and take Charles' place as a savior of mutants. The kids in the forest were the only mutants left in the world, and they had no one to lead them. Logan stepped in and gave of himself - something he never enjoyed doing - in order to see them get to safety. The entire mutant-race depended on Logan, and he stepped up to the challenge. The third and final symbolic moment in the film came in the very last scene. As the children walked away from Logan's grave, Laura turned back to say one final goodbye. In perhaps the saddest scene of the film, the young girl took the makeshift cross out of the ground, and turned it on it's side. A single X sat at the head of the hero's grave. This was obviously pretty sad because he's the face of the X-Men, but the symbol goes a little bit deeper than that. Jackman was the last actor from the original X-Men still portraying his character. That simple cross signified the end of the X-Men as we know it, and the ushering in of a brand new era of mutants in film.

What happens when someone cuts Wolverine's head off, e.g., does the body grow out of the head, vice versa, or both, or does decapitation kill him?

Yes he will. As long as his brain is fucntional, he will live. The only way to kill him IMO is to decapitate him then somehow break open his skull and destroy his brain. People usually confuse between the powers of Deadpool and Wolverine. But that is where everyone is wrong. DEADPOOL REGENERATES, WOLVERINE HEALS. So if in some manner you can slice up his admantium skeleton and remove it from his body, that part is gone forever. That portion will heal, but the body part WILL NOT REGENERATE. However Wolverine will continue to live. All Wolverine will have to do is to attach the decapitated part back to where it belonged and he will be whole again. The following is a small summary, from Ultimate Wolverine series, when Wolverine went against Hulk:“After a vicious exchange, the Hulk gained the upper hand and proceeded to rip Wolverine in half. Wolverine survived, and began the long climb up a mountainside to retrieve his legs. Unfortunately for Logan the Hulk is already there when Wolverine arrives. Hulk says that he will eat one of his legs in order to force Wolverine to leave Hulk alone, but Wolverine says that he will never stop chasing Bruce until he kills him. Then She-Hulk arrives and confronts an angry Hulk, Wolverine reattaches his legs as Hulk attacks an atomic bomb sent by Fury.”So yeah! He will live..

Why was Logan really sick and dying in the movie (Wolverine)?

In the movie, it is clear that Logan is sick. He coughs a lot throughout the movie, it is also accompanied by blood and he walks with a limp . So what is the reason for that?Spoiler alert:Firstly, the movie is in the year 2029 which means he is somewhere close to the age of 200 which is quite old and that itself could have slowed down his healing . This is corroborated by the picture of a page of his script that Director James Mangold had put up.Further, the movie itself quite clearly states that he is poisoned from inside.Caliban says:“I hear you at night. You are not sleeping. You don't wanna talk about that Or the booze you are drinking. Or the pus that you are waiting to wipe on your knuckles. Or the blood I wash in your clothes Or the fresh wounds in your chest. The ones that aren't healing. Something is happening to you, Logan. On the inside you're sick. I can smell it.”Later, even the doctor says:“I know that you're different but that doesn't change the fact that inside you is poisoned. You have to check yourself into a hospital. Find out what it is.”Logan- I know what it is.So obviously he knows that he is poisoned and he also knows the reason but perhaps he can’t do anything about it.Old and weary looking LoganIn the latter part of the movie, this dialogue makes it clear:Zander Rice- I believe you knew my father in the weapon x program.Logan- Yeah. he's the a****** who put this poison in me.Zander Rices’ father was the one who put Adamantium in Logan and that is what he is referring to. This clearly indicates that it is the very adamantium that is coating his skeleton and claws that is poisoning him. This theory is further supported by the comic books as well.Hence, adamantium poisoning along with his old age and diminishing healing power are the reasons why he is sick and dying. One thing though is clear that this is the last time we have seen our beloved character with the claws. Hugh Jackman has played him for 17 years with utmost sincerity and it will be difficult to see someone else play him. I do hope they end it here with this fitting finale.Logan (2017) Movie Script | SS

Given the film Logan is set only about 15 years after the last Xmen film, why is the "nearly immortal" Wolverine falling apart?

I’m not sure where you’re getting “fifteen years after the last X-Men film.” The last X-Men film was X-Men: Apocalypse, which was set in 1983, which would put Logan in 1998 and hence it would be set prior to the time period of the first X-Men film (released in 2000 with an ambiguous setting of “the not too distant future).Perhaps you’re thinking of fifteen years after X-Men: Days of Future Past. And in that case, it’s important to remember that Days of Future Past wasn’t set in the present—it was set in the past of 1973 and the future of 2023. If Logan is set fifteen years after that, it would put the time period at 2038.The earliest date to clue us in to Logan’s age is 1845, which was when his powers first manifested in X-Men Origins: Wolverine (yes, I know the movie’s been retconned, but it stands to reason everything prior to 1973 is still intact). Let’s say he was around thirteen in that scene, which would be about right given puberty is when mutants first manifest their powers. That gives him a birthdate of 1832.This means in Logan, he’s now over two hundred years old. So it would make sense that he’s showing some signs of age.Wolverine is not and has never been “immortal.” Due to his healing factor, he ages at a much slower rate than others, but he does age. This has been well-documented in the comics time and time again. The classic Days of Future Past storyline by Claremont/Byrne, Here Comes Tomorrow by Morrison/Silvestri, Old Man Logan by Millar/McNiven, Wolverine: The End by Jenkins/Castellini, and countless other alternate reality/future-set stories have showed Logan growing old. During times when his healing factor is lost or suppressed, he ends up aging at an accelerating rate.

When Wolverine wakes up in [spoiler], why is he unaware of [spoiler]?

Listen to Shadow Cat/Kitty Pride: She says that only Logan would be the only one to remember everything about the old (with Sentinels) timeline. This is a feature of her time travel. She states it clearly. This feature exists as a fact. The consciousness of Logan which was travelling in the previous timeline will supersede his consciousness in the altered timeline. This is what Kitty's time travel does, it lets the consciousness take control of their own bodies making the original consciousness (the consciousness of the timeline to which the body taken over belongs to) disappear. This is what happens when Wolverine is first transported to his boss' wife's room - He doesn't remember where he is, and how he got there. Had both the memories been working, he would have an idea of all those things. The same happens with his consciousness in the new/without sentinels timeline. It gets superseded by the old consciousness, the consciousness takes control of his body when it arrives at the same point of time i.e in 2023. The old consciousness has NEVER seen the events of the new (without sentinels) timeline, it is very fitting that he doesn't remember what has happened in the 50 years of the new timeline. An attempted explanation for the effects of Kitty Pride's powers: When the timeline is shifting from Old to New, everyone's except Wolverine's consciousness is in the timeline which is being changed. This is because Logan's consciousness was travelling in the new timeline when the events of the old timeline were being changed. So, such change happens with everyone whose consciousness is present in that timeline except Logan. The same consciousness thus, after 50 years of his living in the old timeline, takes control of his body in the new timeline.
