What is the best "electronic" album ever, in your opinion?
This is a hard question! I can’t decide between Delerium - Karma (collaboration by Bill Leeb and Rhys Fulber) and the self-titled Conjure One - Conjure One (composed and performed by Rhys Fulber). Both are ambient electronic projects. Both utilize guest singers, like Chemda, Sarah McLachlan, Poe, Kristy Thirsk, Sinéad O'Connor, Lisa Gerrard, and Jeff Martin. Delerium was started by Bill Leeb as a side project to his main act, Front Line Assembly (FLA). Rhys Fulber is also a member of FLA; Conjure One is his side project. Not many producers make albums they mainly release singles and eps. Here are some of my favorite albums though. 1. Boys Noize - Power 2. Phaeleh - Cold In You 3. Kaskade - Strobelight Seduction 4. Portishead - Third 6. Massive Attack - Mezzanine 7. Faithless - Reverence 8. Flying Lotus - 1983 9. Daft Punk - Homework
How long does a good EDM album take to make?
All up to the producer. How long does it take to write a good book? Could take a month, could takes years. Here's a good example Axwell just released the track center of the universe. A first edit was heard in some sets in 2009. But finally just released the final version last week. A track may take a few years. Most "EDM" or genres like house, trance, electro are commonly released in singles and not albums. This has been going on since at least the mid 80s with electronic music.
Who is the greatest EDM artist of all time?
While there is no “right” answer to this question and it’s entirely up to one’s opinion, it doesn’t hurt to give a answer based on personal preferences. So here goes:Martin Garrix - Martin Garrix is the closest thing we have to a EDM prodigy right now. He was just 17 years old when he released the super smash hit “Animals” which has really revolutionized EDM, thrusting it into the mainstream. His sound is really unique mxing big room house and progressive house. From songs like “Ocean” to “Like I Do” his songs have a unique use of sounds and great melodies. Check out his song Pizza which is his most melodic song yet.2. Chainsmokers - The chainsmokers duo has been turning out one mainstream hit after the other since they started and so it was impossible to ignore them on this list. “Roses”, “Don’t let me down”, “Something just like this”, “All we know”, “Sick boy”, “Closer”, “Paris” the list goes on. Their hitmaking ability is unparalled. The fact that they sing in most of their songs are a testament to their talent.3. Calvin Harris - Is there really anything that I should tell about this man that hasn’t already been told. This hitmaking machine has been rumored to have the “midas touch”, in that every song that he works on and makes ends up being a hit. He has been nominated a whopping 5 times for grammy awards winning one in the process. According to Wikipedia he has been nominated 117 times for different awards which is just crazy. He has bridged the gap between edm and mainstream pop churning out hit after hit. “Slide”, “Feels”, “How deep is your love”, “Blame”, “We found love” is just a tip of the iceberg when it comes to his music portfolio. In addition to constantly pushing the boundaries of a variety of genres and making new ones too, he also sings in many of his songs like “My Way” etc.
Which are some of the best EDM artists to dance to?
Armin Van Buuren- He has created some of the most beautiful and emotional trance tracks of all time.Also his current bigroom tracks have amazing energy and hence he has been the no1 DJ for 5 years and plays at mainstage at major festivals.Hardwell-His bigroom,progressive tracks have great energy and catchy vocals.Kshmr-He has a very unique Indian style in his tunes to which one will definetly dance to.Don Diablo-His future house tracks are really groovy and fun to dance to.
