You shouldn’t have to ‘’ handle ‘’ anyone, but rather, communicate with them. Is there anything you are doing that is harming him? Why don’t you approach him kindly and talk to him?Are you triggering some of his behaviour unknowingly? - Do you spray a lot of chemicals (aftershave, cleaning products etc.), play loud music, not giving him enough space, etc. this could make him feel very anxious and in more serious cases lead to a meltdown. Please have some compassion, it’s nothing he can help.Learn about autism, educate yourself to find out what you can do too. We all share a world, and this is no different when sharing a room with an autistic person. If your roommate had asthma, for example, you wouldn’t start spraying a lot of chemicals in the room and seal the windows shut. Or if you woke up with fever, you would hope your roommate didn’t start playing loud music.And let me tell you something else about autistic people - they are highly intelligent too in many ways beyond your belief, and many have a great sense of humour! You might feel introverts are boring and have nothing to talk about, but once they start talking by will, they are a festival of interesting talks.
