I worked at a Chinese restaurant. All the answers hit various parts of why they last when they don't seem busy.We were in a small shopping center with very little walk in traffic. If you came there for the most part, it was your destination. The best part of where we were is that we were on the road in to town, and there was a lot of grab dinner on the way home. The next part was the delivery which I did. So a lot of traffic you didn't see and very little eat in.The employees were the husband and wife, their sisters and families. I was the only one not related. I worked 5 days a week, 4 or 5 hours a day and got $5 an hour cash plus tips. Got a free meal, half the time from the special menu, half the time what they went eating, which was served family style, each person with a bowl of rice.Everything was made from scratch, as was said food costs are low. Very little waste. They made money on everything.This one rented, the rental cost was higher than some but not outrageous. All the supplies came from an "uncle" in the city.The one point made about not trying to make a lot of money is true, but making enough to live day to day with a few perks. As they usually are family, they cut both personal and business costs. They all lived in the same house, between the small group they worked most of the hours, shared a car, ate together usually at the restaurant, and didn't have a lot of what Americans call essentials. It's like a mom and pop store where they own the place, and live upstairs. The true American dream.
What do you call a person in the front of a restaurant?
The person who greets you and shows you to your table is the host or hostess. The person who parks your car is the valet. (Wasn't sure if you meant inside or outside.)

There are many Chinese restaurant buffets across the United States. Some are small places with just a few selections and some have an enormous selection with six or more buffet tables. This review will cover a typical meal at a generic, large Chinese buffet rather than a chain restaurant. For this meal I chose sweet and sour chicken, fried rice, three cream cheese wontons, and two egg rolls. Nutrition Information Start off with about two serving-spoons of sweet and sour chicken. This would consist of small pieces of deep fried chicken with red sweet and sour sauce poured generously over the chicken. I would estimate this to be around 500 calories. The chicken offers a bit of protein and iron, but any nutritional benefit is far outweighed by the greasy, high calorie cooking method. The sauce adds calories and sugar and little else. The rest of the meal includes fried rice, wontons, and egg rolls. One cup of fried rice would be equal to about 300 calories with lots of sodium. On the side are three deep fried cream cheese wontons with sauce, which add approximately 250 more calories, and other than a bit of calcium, no nutritional value. The two deep fried egg rolls add approximately 200 more calories. Total Calorie Count This rather large meal is common at Chinese Buffets. It can be tempting to eat too much with all that food right in front of you. This example meal would contain around 1250 calories, and that doesn't include any beverage or dessert.

Majority of shops are located primary adjacent to public roads therefore installing unauthorized blockers or dividers might get you unwanted attention from city engineering and/or public works resulting in fines. Unless your shop is located on a private off street lot, you may want to contact your local public street engineering department and get clearance before any installation of any kind of barriers or check with them what your options are. White zones or passenger zones would be ideal since that would be the minimum time a vehicle can stop to drop or pick up a passenger in front of a business (varies from 5-15 mins depending on local ordinance) however those zones are mostly permitted to hotels, restaurants and/or hospitals.
