I wish I weren't indian?
The western world & the rest of the world sees Indians as these people that resemble black people & ride on camels & elephants & are poor & terrorist who eat spicy food and worship cows & rats. When the truth is Indians are descents of the Caucasian race. & Indians can look Far East Asian, blonde hair with blue eyes, Hispanic, and black. But no one sees those other races. & we have been terrorized & bombed by the terrorists more, as we are Hindus & closer to the Middle East region. I myself have been blessed- people often think I am Greek or Italian. My father looks like he’s Russian or white but my mom looks like an indigenous South American woman. I love India. I get tears in my eyes when our national anthem is played. I love our food and our music and our fashion. I love our landscape which has desserts, and snow, and tropical weather, and grasslands, and mountains, and beaches. I love our languages and our diverse we even are within our own culture. But I HATE how girl in my culture try to be lighter skinned and wished they had blue or green eyes. I don’t wish either of those things but that fact that they do, especially people in south India, I hate it. I literally hate them for not being proud of their culture, while I am doing the same thing. I am so ashamed. Every day I come to realize more and more that You can’t prosper in this world as a female if you’re not skinny, and white.
