Am I blocked if I can't follow anyone on Instagram?
There is two possibilities:You reach to the total Instagram follow limits: 7500 You can not follow more than 7500, If you saw an account with more than this, be sure that they are passed the limit before new Instagram rules.IMPORTANT: your pending follow requests to private users, counts as your followers.You reach to the Daily Instagram follow limits:For trusted accounts:Follows: one in every 28 – 36 seconds and no more than 200 follows an hour (1000 follows a day, with a 24 hour pause);Unfollow: the interval of 12-22 seconds, no more than 1000 every 24 hours from unmutual and 1000 from mutual.For new accounts:The actions frequency for the first 12-20 days after the account is set up should be 36-48 seconds;The total actions limit is 500 actions a day (follow, unfollow, like).
Why did Instagram block me from following?
Currently there is an Instagram policy regarding the number of people you can follow in a given period of time.So, if Instagram is not letting you follow any more people, the reason is that you must've been on a following spree - Following so many users in a small amount of time, which Instagram doesn't permits.If you continue to violate this policy, you would be banned from following anyone for 24 hours. On completion of this time period you would be again able to follow people.But do note that if you still continue to follow people in the same manner you could even be banned for a week or even get your entire IG account banned.Basically, Instagram introduced this policy to PREVENT the several BOTs and fake accounts that are on Instagram to follow people and spam their profiles. This is primarily to prevent those fake accounts from following large chunks of people in a small amount of time. So if the system finds your activities and actions similar to those types of accounts, you could get banned from causing further nuisance.As pointed out in other answers, I think the limit of follows a new IG account can make is 200/day and mind you, this doesn't mean you can simply touch this limit in 10 minutes and you're good. NO! That would be making you look like a BOT! And you'll get blocked! So make sure you don't follow so many people in a small period of time.Just like there is a limit of following people, there are similar regulations regarding likes and comments made by users in a given amount of time. This is also primarily to prevent computer BOTs and fake accounts to cause nuisance on IG! Similar 24 hours and weekly ban can be imposed on those who like large amount of photos and comment on large amount of posts, which makes their activities look like a BOT to the system.Moreover, if you send unknown person a follow request or even start following a public profile and they report you, you could end up getting banned in this case also for following unknown people just like you get banned on Facebook. Similar ban sentence could be imposed as in the earlier cases.Also, if someone reports your comments on a post and IG finds them inappropriate, you could get banned from commenting on posts for sometime.Enjoy your time on IG and don't spam people cause you can get BANNED!Hope this helps. I'm blocked from following people on Instagram, anyone know how long it's gonna take to be unblocked? Been blocked since yesterday and i still can't follow anyone. Also, see if I've requested to follow someone (this was yesterday before I got blocked) will I need to wait till I'm unblocked to see if they have accepted or declined ?

Last night I realized I was following too many inactive followers, I decided to unfollow everyone that I'm following and then start over again, it worked well until now: I can't follow anyone and it's been a day, my rp friends are thinking that I'm unfollowing them by will and that's not what I'm thinking. Anyone that can help me? (The same problem happened to me before maybe 2-3 times and the only option I found was to delete my account and create it again, which I will never do because I've worked hard on many of the photos that's on this account.) I can't follow someone on instagram but they don't block me?
1. Sometimes when you've followed many people at once the instagram server doesn't let you follow anyone for a while. (can be minutes, months, days, I had to delete my account because I couldn't follow anyone) 2. theres always glitches in the system, you can try deleting the app and redownloading it, closing the app etc.

Temporary blocks violations ranges between 24 hours to 3 months. If this is your initial violations it will be for 24 hours. If you continue to violate the guidelines then the duration of blocks will increase and after couple of warnings your account will be disabled or suspended.Hope this helps.
