Why aren't hashtags working on Instagram?

A few days ago I made an Instagram to follow a friend. She gave me her username and when I search it-it doesn't appear. She also said she followed me but it still says she doesn't. How do I find her and fix this? Thanks.

Lately my Instagram search history has people on it that I don t search up. I Don t Even Follow Or Know Some Of These People. I Know That Of has that clear history feature but I m still curious to why it does that.

How can I actually delete my search history from instagram?
I use an android phone (samsung) and when I select the "delete search history" option, the following happens: when i check my searches, they seem to be gone as they should be. But when i exit the app (so that it is not running in the background either) and then access it again and go to the "search section" and start typing, my old searches are still there! I've done it several times and also deleted the cache on my phone, but it's still the same. Does this happen to anyone else and is there a way to REALLY delete your searches? :)
