Install Windows 7 on Samsung Slate PC

How do I  install Windows 8.1 on a Samsung laptop?

You deleted Win 7! WHY?Win 8.1 is only efficient on a touch surface. Desktops/laptops without a touch are better with Win 7 x86 (especially for gaming). It doesn't create a new partition when I press new button on unallocated space. It also says windows can't be installed on mbr disk. For the most efficient solution you first need to backup all your data.Once the data is copied then format the entire drive and do a clean installation. Why a clean installation? Because it's the only way to guarantee all the unallocated space is used and there are no old files of a previous installation. The old files will cause booting issues and dual booting with a lack of the full OS will strain the device.User enforced strain will only void your warranty and cause further issues.Backup your data:Download and install Portable Ubuntu 9.10 for Windows on a 4/8gb pen drive (download it on a friend's laptop or cyber) >restart> boot ubuntu from usb > access drive D/E/F and copy data to the pen drive or another external HDD.Alternatively, download & install easeus data recovery (if possible install this on a pc that does not have sensitive data but, a free partition) follow the instructions.I've tried both options for similar reasons - all data recovered. If you insist on converting the disk to gpt without having to format - Siddharth has already provided you with 1 of the best possible solutions. If that doesn't work then try this: http://www.disk-partition.com/ar.... The link's got a step-by-step guide. I can't vouch for it but, it seems to have a solution you desire.

Can I install and run windows programs and games on a Windows tablet? Will the tablet function as an everyday Windows PC with just a different form factor?

All modern Windows tablets run regular windows apps… whether they come from the official Store or installed from exe files from the internet. The Surface RT built in 2012 will not. (These are fairly rare now.)Many tablets are sold with Windows in S Mode. This means the tablet is locked to the Windows Store… so you can only install things from the store. This option is great for casual users. The store is a good defense from viruses. A lot of the top applications are already found on the store. If you don’t like this, you can turn S-Mode off (permanently) and now you’re free to install apps from any source. Most Windows tablets run Intel x86/x64 type CPUs. These will have no issues with any software you find. Some of the brand new tablets will be running ARM or ARM64 chips. This makes things more difficult. You will be forced to using the store for installing apps. This is because most apps are compiled for x86/x64 and having the app be able to install from the store will provide a type of emulation so your ARM/ARM64 chip can still run the app.So the vast majority of Windows tablets will run anything. Go to a Microsoft kiosk store in the mall and they’ll walk you through it all…

Are there any tablets that run full Windows 10 and not some mini version like on Windows phones?

We are using a couple of Samsung Slate 7 (700T) tablets that originally sold with Windows 7 Pro around 2013. They have Intel Core i5 processors, 4 GB RAM, 128 GB SSD and they run full Windows 10 just fine with full touch control.I paid less than $300 each - reconditioned from Discount Electronics in Austin. On occasion they’ve been on sale for less than $200. They came with Windows 10 Home but a Windows 7 Pro key on the power brick unlocked Windows 10 Pro.Meanwhile Microsoft is on their fifth generation of the Surface Pro tablets all of which run full Windows 10.

Which OS is better,Windows series 7 or 8 for laptop?

As much as I know, if your laptop is latest! It will come installed with Windows 10 (or 8). Some laptops are actually designed for Windows 8. You see, the Start button is actually in some cases the logo of Windows 8. There are of course many advantages of Windows 10 and 8. I would talk about Windows 10- Some people love 7 because of the start screen, but let me tell you Windows 10 start screen is almost similar to Windows 7. You can have more than 1 desktop in Windows 10, that’s not in the case of 7.But, certainly there are some disadvantages such as- Instability. Windows 10 and 8 are highly instable, a/c to me! It’s not that I use pirated version. When I bought my Pavilion, it came with 8 and it was highly instable. I later upgraded to 10, but things didn't change!

How can I take a screenshot in Microsoft Windows?

1. The easiest way to take a screenshot in windows is to press and hold windows key and then press prt scr key (In most keyboards this is located alongside f12 key). If the screen blinks for a while, the screenshot is succesfully taken and if not, try again. You can find these in Screenshots folder inside Pictures folder. 2. If you are interested in editing your screenshot before saving then use this method. Press prt scr key (This saves the image in clipboard) and open any image editor. Then press ctrl+v and edit the screenshot in whatever way you like (prefer .png format for saving the file). Also you can paste this image in any software supporting images like Powerpoint or Word.3. You can use the inbuilt Snipping tool. This is the most functional of all the methods. Features:Free-form Snip : As the name suggests, you are free to draw any shape on the screen and that part of screen is snipped(=screenshot is taken).Rectangular Snip : This lets you select a rectangular area on the screen and that part is snipped.Window Snip : Using this you can snip the windows you choose.Full-screen Snip : This lets you take a full screen snip.Delay : This is a new addition to Snipping Tool (starting from Windows 10). This lets you set a predefined time delay (0s to 5s) before snipping. After that interval, a screenshot is automatically taken. For more such tips visit, KNOW MOBILE TECH

Samsung laptop boots into boot menu/app menu and won't boot into Windows 8. How do I fix this?

First you have to determine whether the hard disk is recognized, if it isn’t it is probably a bad hard drive. If in fact it is recognized but Windows will not boot, you have a corrupted installation. Restart, go to BIOS and make sure you are booting from your optical drive or USB (whichever has your installation media). If you get options, see what happens when you chose “Repair”, I hate to say it, bu this usually doesn't work. If it does, access your computer, save all your data and do a clean install. If it doesn’t work, try to access your hard drive using a USB to SATA device from another computer. You would need to take out the hard drive to do this. If you are able to access it, backup all your data and see if a clean install would work.If your hard drive is fried, buy a SSD and do a clean install, make sure you have your Microsoft Windows key so that you can revalidate your installation. This is usually on a sticker on the back of the computer or under the battery.

Sims 2 Expansion Packs Installation Order?

We have found out that it doesn't matter what order you install the games. In any way they will install completely. All you have to do is make sure you use the disc for the latest expansion (Apartment Life) to play the game after all of them are installed.

Still, it's best to install in order to have less confusion.

What is the difference between Windows 7 and Windows 8?

Windows 8 has been engineered with a full set of gestures that work system wide: swipe from the right to access the Charms menu, swipe from the left to switch between running programs, swipe from the top or bottom for access to the App bar in Metro apps.

In addition, it supports a full range of multi-touch gestures for scrolling, panning, rotating, and so on.

By contrast, Windows 7 has a limited set of touch gestures, and touch support is essentially a replacement for mouse actions. In addition, the quality of the touch experience is greatly dependent on third-party hardware and drivers, which are of variable quality.

Touch targets in Windows 8 are optimized for the lower precision of a finger (roughly 16 pixels) compared to a mouse pointer, which can point to a single pixel. This optimization extends to desktop features like Windows Explorer, which has been redesigned so that it works very well with touch. If you try Windows Explorer on a touch-capable device in Windows 7 and Windows 8, you can literally feel the difference.

The system requirements for Windows 8 specify that a compatible device must support a minimum of five simultaneous touch points. Some Windows 7 devices support only a single touch point, making gestures like two-finger scroll and rotate impossible.

The best example of a Windows 8 touch-capable device is the custom-built Samsung device that Microsoft gave attendees of the 2011 BUILD developers conference. It is not available for retail purchase, although the Samsung Series 7 tablet is close to it in design terms.

If you are considering Windows 8 on a touch device, it's worth waiting until fall 2012, when Windows 8-certified devices will be available.
but yes one can go for the upgrades but it has also got some negative points that it may not be supported for every processor.
