What are the common puzzles asked in an interview?

This puzzle was asked to me in one of my campus interviews..Interviewer (I): You have a chocolate cream cake in front of you and a knife. I want you to cut it into 8 equal pieces using the knife. You are allowed to cut only 3 times.*Thought for a minute”Me: The first 2 cuts will be at right angles to each other resulting in 4 equal pieces. The third cut will be exactly between the top and the base. The cake will eventually have 8 equal pieces.*Interviewer just shook his head”I: But I want all the pieces to have chocolate cream. And they still have to be equal.*Really got confused here. Asked for a paper and tried to draw different figures. Soon realized its not working out*I: You can tell me if you don’t know the answer. You’re wasting time.*Cursed both myself and the interviewer in my head. Realized that there had to be some sort of symmetry and then finally something struck my mind.*Me (With a smile on my face): The first 2 cuts will be in the same way as before. We then keep all the four pieces one over the other and make the third cut in the middle from top to bottom.*He finally moved his lips a little. Enough to indicate a smile*I: Good!Verdict: Not selected (Because I screwed up the rest of the interview)Edit: Added image for those who couldn’t understand the solution:

Best place to buy basic dorm things in London?

So I'm a US girl who is going to an arts college on the south east side of London. To avoid shipping hassles, and the fact that I'd rather not buy things like an alarm clock and lamp here, to then ship them with expensive fees and then pay more to get adapters for each item, I'm just going to skip the trouble and buy them over there since I'll arrive a few days early.

But I know just about nothing about UK stores and where to shop and get things, I've looked up a few things but I cant find equivalents of my go to stores over there, and I'm a little bit lost on which places will give me good quality but not break my bank.

So to you UK knowledgeable, wheres a good place to buy:
Sheets
Pillows
Desk lamps
Alarm clocks
Mini fridge
Cook wear (I'm told it's a shared kitchen but each student brings their own pots and pans)

and other dorm needed things. I much appreciate the help : )

Replacement refrigerator light bulb. Advice please.?

Hi! Has anyone had any experience of ordering/buying replacement fridge light bulbs? I have a Bosch fridge freezer (given to me) which needs one.
I know there are some online companies which do them, if anyone has used these and has any feedback it would be welcome. Alternatively, if anyone knows of any shops that sell them in the London UK area, preferably N/NE/E.
Thanking you all in advance.

How to get to jusco bukit tinggi from kl sentral?

federal highway would lead you straight there.

from klsentral, head towards bangsar. take the junction to jalan pantai baru. you'll be seeing menara telekom on your left.
there, by right, in front of you (actually, beneath you) is federal highway. turn right. the lrt station (universiti station) that is then in front of u will be now on your left.
now you are on federal highway.

head towards klang until you enter klang town.
drive along the road until you see the signage the leads you to banting.
follow the signage. keep on driving and within 5 minutes, you'll see jusco bukit tinggi on your right.
you should first observe whether you see tuanku ampuan rahimah hospital and tesco on your right.
