In one of the songs I listened to recently, I heard a beautiful instrument that sounds similar to a flute. In Christ Alone by Adrienne Liesching and Geoff Moore the instrument is one of the opening instruments before the singing starts. You will know it when you hear it. I think I heard it in one of the songs in the Brave movie. I really love the sound of this instrument and would love to play it, but I can't find out what it is. Thanks!!

I think it's supposed to sound like a harp... but the resonance isn't quite right... I think it's more likely a synth or electric keyboard set to the "harp" sound. :)

Hey, I do music at school and we learn how to determine what instruments are playing and what they are doing to create that sound. It takes a long time to learn lol and im still learning. I always tried cheating by googling it and there never was any information on instruments. The only way i could kinda cheat was youtubing live performance and see what instruments they used. I've never found a site ive found that you could use to do it ): i wish there was though. Just reading and studying about the song i guess is the easiest way you could know the instruments.

It's called a 'hang' (pronounced "hung") and good luck buying 'at least one' -- not only are they incredibly, incredibly expensive (~$10,000 is the cheapest you'll probably see) there just aren't that many out there.They're hand-made by a company (really just a few people) in Switzerland called PANart Hangbau and aren't made quickly -- hence the price and the backlog of people trying to obtain them.I do think this is about the most beautiful sounding instrument there is and I have to imagine there are some imitation/cheaper ones out there, just haven't seen any yet.EDIT: Wow, looks like three of us tried answering this at the same time.
