The moment I saw this question, it was this young lad's name , that got struck in my head first.He's none other than ,Yes, none other than Prithvi Shaw . Although, it was no surprise that his international debut kicked off to a grand start with a magnificent 134 against the Windies this October, thus becoming the youngest player to make a century on test debut, he did handle all sorts of pressure and did live up to the expectations .Coming on to the debut innings , that was one magnificent piece of batting. The aggression and the class with which he executed his shots was simply fascinating to watch. He did take us back to the time when Virender Sehwag used to open the innings for India and kick start the innings at the top gear with some sheer aggressive display of batting.With the way he batted , he never gave anyone the impression of someone making their international debut. Although, he was under the spot light ever since he made a record score of 501 in the Harris Shield Elite division tournament ( a record which was later broken by Pranav Dhanawade). Be , it his Ranji Trophy debut , his performance with India A , the captaincy skills that he exhibited during India's successful journey to lift the U-19 World Cup earlier this year, some mind blowing performances with Delhi Daredevils in IPL, this guy has given us too much to expect out of him and also never fails to fulfil them through his performances.One can go on and praise heaps and heaps about him. Although, it's just the beginning of his career , with a lot more to come yet, especially the upcoming test series against the Australians, I truly believe that this guy will shine to his glory , given his splendid average against the pacers in the First class games that he played so far, particularly outside the sub continent, proves him to be a valuable asset for the team's batting, particularly in the conditions where they have failed numerous times because of the batting and the inability to face the pace and bounce.Photo courtesy: Google, ESPN Cricinfo.
