Ethernet connection not working?

ok guys, I'm usually quite savvy when it comes to pcs but i might need some help on this one.
Here are the facts:
-My LAN internet connection is not working on my gaming system (motherboard: Asus rog maximus vii ranger)
-Every other client in the house (that is including wifi) has working internet
-It works perfectly when connected to my laptop (so its not the cable)
-I get the LAN symbol with the yellow warning sign in the task bar, yet the network and connection center does not display any connection whatsoever.
-When I attempt to troubleshoot it via windows (not that that would ever work), it says "something may be wrong with your ethernet driver"
-Nothing I have done has changed any of those facts

What I have done:
- installed up to date drivers for the mobo port
- aaaalll the registry stuff
- reset ip via netsh etc.
- uninstall drivers and restart
- turn off firewall and try again
-try a different cable
- try to use a USB LAN card (didnt work at all, same problem)
-winsockfix
-reset and restart the router
-panic and go ask yahoo answers

I would really appreciate any advice from you guys, hope somebody has encountered something similar and fixed it.

Internet connection to laptop is not working.?

Hug2 refers to a WiFi network operating on 2.4 GHz. Hug5 refers to a WiFi network operating on 5 GHz.

5 GHz is generally faster than 2.4 GHz, but tends to have a shorter range, particularly indoors. The cap on the faster network is to prevent an unfair load on the Satellites that are providing the service.

Almost all WiFi devices support 2.4 GHz operation, but relatively few support 5 GHz operation. Clearly, the WiFi adapter in your laptop does not support 5 GHz operation. If you want to use 5 GHz, then you will have to plug in a dual band USB WiFi adapter and install the appropriate Windows 10 drivers, then disable the laptop's existing WiFi adapter in Network & Sharing Center.

Although your brother has an 'identical' laptop, some manufacturers use a mixture of WiFi adapters in their production lines. If your laptop is advertised as working with 5 GHz WiFi, contact the laptop manufacturer.

I hope this helps.

Wired internet connection not working but wireless does?

Did you try to use a different cord? Perhaps you're using a bad cat5 6 or 6e cord. I would first suggest you try a few different Ethernet cords, also maybe try wiring your laptop also. Do this to see if your port or cord is bad or broken.

If that doesn't work then try looking into your router settings in your default gateway. Depending on your router you get there by either going to 10.0.0.1 (mainly a Comcast thing there) or 192.168.1.1. Once in your settings you will want to look for something title, or at least similar to, Home Network/ Network status(maybe even setting).

Once you locate this ensure that your Ethernet is enabled. After you have verified this, test your Ethernet again. If that doesn't work continue reading.

Now check your firewall settings. Ensure that it isnt disallowing local area network activity. If it is just a list of security options (high medium low etc.) typically you can choose low and not have any issues. If this doesn't work you will need to contact Comcast for help. They have the customer that ensures that you get what you are owed always.

Hops this helps,

My toshiba laptop won't connect to internet wirelessly need help?

Most new laptops are equipped with all the components necessary to go online wirelessly to account for the increasing popularity of Wi-Fi Internet. If you find that you are not able to connect to any wireless networks on a laptop, take a few basic troubleshooting steps on your own before having the laptop serviced. In all likelihood, you will be able to restore your laptop's wireless functionality and be browsing Wi-Fi Internet in no time.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need
Laptop "Device Manager"
Access to second wireless source
1

A radio button can indicate that your wireless card has been enabled.
Enable the wireless card by pressing the radio button, typically located near the top of the keyboard. Press the radio button until a light illuminates indicating that your wireless card has been enabled and is ready to go online wirelessly. Test your connectivity once again; if there is still no wireless access, it is time to check for a possible issue with your wireless card.

2
Navigate to the computer's device manager by opening the "Start" menu and either clicking "Device Manager" from the "Control Panel" window or right-clicking "My Computer," clicking "Properties," and choosing "Device Manager" from the "Hardware" tab, depending on what version of operating system you use.

3
Look for the wireless card in the Device Manager by clicking the "+" next to "Network Adapters." If you see any item labeled "Wireless Card" or "Wireless Controller," check to see if it has a "?," "X," "!" placed over the name; if it does, you will need to update the software drivers for the wireless card. Contact the manufacturer of the computer for assistance.

4
Attempt to connect a wireless network other than your home network. Make sure you connect to a wireless network that you are legally allowed to use, such as a free public Wi-Fi hotspot, and that you are not illegally connecting to someone else's wireless network. If you can connect to other Wi-Fi networks, the problem is likely isolated to your home network and you will need to troubleshoot that. If you are still can't connect to any Wi-Fi networks after following the steps above, you may need to have the laptop serviced or have its wireless card replaced.

Wireless Connection Not working on Lenovo Laptop?!?

First, refer to your router manual, and set up your router again.
or reset it . There is some reset bottom on the back of the router.
Delete your wireless connection you presently have setup----
network connection in the control panel. If have another computer a desktop for instance, try testing your setup and
network or internet connection with that one. Setup your WEP Key which is for security (ssid ) Go to device manager and delete your network adapters and let windows
find therm again. A good way test your internet connect
is to use a wire connection that is a cable to see if your online.
You don't have to do the things mention in any specific order.
It may that your wireless adapter drivers need to be reinstall,
so remove any wireless adapters in device manager. Some
times windows during updates will install new adapters that
conflict.
