How can you get WiFi without internet?
You buy a wireless router and power it up. By default, most home wireless routers are manufactured with WiFi enabled.The WiFi network name (SSID) and pass phrase should either be on the router’s label or in the user guide.There should also be a password that will allow you to log on to the router’s settings and change them, including changing the WiFi name and encryption details. Changing WiFi settings is best done from a PC connected by Ethernet. Wifi internet works, but my cable internet isn't working?
A "169.254" IP means that your computer asked for a DHCP server but no one replied back to you. So your system created an IP address to allow you to limp along. This means there's a problem somewhere along the path between your Ethernet adapter, the Ethernet cable, the switch your cable plugs into, and the router the switch plugs into. A quick test would be to take your computer (and your Ethernet cable) over to your roommate's Ethernet jack and plug your computer and cable into his jack. If your computer gets a proper IP address then you know your computer is fine and that the problem is on the college's side. However, if you get another 169.254 IP -- try using your roommate's Ethernet cable to connect your computer to his jack. If you get a proper IP at this point, this proves your Ethernet cable is bad and you need to get a new Ethernet cable to get back in service. For extra points, your roommate can plug his computer into your Ethernet jack. His computer should get a 196.254 if our theory about a bad network segment is correct. Then contact your school's IT dept and ask them to fix your Ethernet issue while you go Wi-Fi.
I need the best excuse ever for not turning in my online homework, help?!?
I had homework due by Thursday night at midnight and I forgot all about it until now...and I need to do it and somehow have the best excuse ever for my teacher to accept it...because if you miss a "day" of online homework it's equivalent to missing a real day of school and I'll fail the class. My teacher is really hard to convince, he's super stern about stuff. However, it was really a total accident and I don't deserve to fail the class so please help!
How do I connect to the internet on a Dell Inspiron 4000 laptop?
The school should have flat lined the computer and left it like that before disposing of it. What do you mean by a Verizon gold card? Never heard of that. Anyway, why not just format the hard drive and install Windows. The message means the machine is still set up with the schools' network settings and is trying to connect to one of their servers. As I said, format and do a fresh install of Windows.

ok... next year i will graduate... i still dont know how to code... i always used code from other schoolmates or friends and change it ... but i think i undestrand when i see the code... if i would try to write something, i will have no clue... i think i can learn but i dont know... what options will i have to get a job as non programmer?
Ps3 Wireless help? 80010201 error code?
I'm at school (college) and the internet is already poor....but it's wireless. So when I go to connect my ps3 to the wireless internet, it says access point is not detected. However, I am getting the wireless internet on my laptop and its working perfectly. The green light in front of my ps3 is not even flashing green like its supposed. I don't know if its a fault in my wireless thing in my PS3 or the school's internet itself. I even tried to use wired connection by hooking my ethernet cable into the ethernet port on the dorm room wall into my PS3. At one point, the backgreen light of the PS3 will light up for like 3-5 seconds then it won't light up anymore. When i first connected to PSN yesterday for the first time at school, i was able to login but it log me out 2 minutes later. I haven't dropped the PS3 or anything and it has been working fine ever since I got it. the people on my hall said they had the same problem with theirs not being to stay connected online. But, I'm not sure if its my PS3 wireless thing not working or if its the school's internet. Any suggestions? I have cut if on and off many times, restored to default settings, reinstalled firmware, etc.

1. The easiest way is to take your laptop\phone, connect to your WiFi, leave your house, and keep walking until you can't get a signal. That's how far the range is. (Actual range will be less if there are walls in the way, so that even if you can get a signal pretty far away out in the open, your neighbor at that range probably won't, since the walls will block it.) 2. ISP stands for Internet Service Provider. It's the company that you pay for your internet. If you have cable, then it's your cable company. 2b. Generally, it's not permissible, but there isn't really any way they can find out as long as your neighbors don't use the connection too heavily. If you plan on sharing it with many neighbors who use it heavily, you may have to buy a commercial plan, which is significantly more expensive. Go to your ISP's website and read their Terms of Use for more details.
10060 error (Apache)?
I have a problem with my Apache that is very unusual. When my friends connects to my server from their homes it works but for my school,I tested, it does not go load it gives me an 10060 error don't know why. Could it be because my server has just 1 LAN card? Maybe other explanations? Tnx to you all
