Internet Radio Streaming Device With Other Features Or Small Smart Tv

Which is better: a smart TV or an HD LED TV?

Any day, a full HD LED TV without Smart functionality.I’ll make a confession at the end of this answer.See, when it comes down to deciding an LED TV, there are two standard rule of thumbs:-Never go with brands like Vu, TCL, BPL etc.If not absolutely required, never go for Smart TVsThe explanationWhy to never go with brands like Vu, TCL, BPL etc. ?These brands are relatively not well established in the market as compared to the rivals like Sony or Samsung, so obviously they are not getting the desired number of sales as those big brands get. Less sale figures gives them less revenue and hence they try to maximize the profits by cost cutting. They manufacture products that have poor build quality, poor sounding speakers and an even worse picture quality. Basically they save money by cutting costs on the three essential pillars of LED TV. Hence you find yourself visiting their service centers time and again for one thing or the other. Why to not go for Smart TVs?Smart TV is an additional functionality that TV manufacturers, these days are bundling in their manufactured TVs. What additional functionality you get by purchasing a Smart TV over a regular one is, watching YouTube and Amazon Prime videos on it directly without needing to connect your PC to the TV. Now, I believe, it’s not much of a hassle to connect TV to the PC, you just need an HDMI cable and that’s it. You can make any regular TV as Smart one just with an HDMI cable. If not via PC, you can also purchase a device called as Google Chromecast that would make your regular TV as a smart one without having to spend thousands of extra bucks. Now, I have a confession to make. I was not myself aware of the above mentioned information. I read a post that helped me taking a buying decision for my LED TV. In the post, in addition to the above mentioned things, I read various other things that made me take a confident buying decision.Going by the author’s discretion, I purchased this LED TV, My Purchased LED TVNow, coming to the post where I gathered this knowledge, here is the link, you may check it out for a comprehensive buying guide, Vibhor Shergill’s answer to Don't buy LG if you want LG (Life's Good)Have a lovely purchase.

Does it use more bandwidth to stream a movie or TV show to a TV, than to a phone or tablet?

Peeyush is correct in his answer. But let me go a little more general: Yes, typically streaming to a TV takes more bandwidth than to a phone or tablet for a couple of reasons. First, because most TVs are higher resolution than most phones and tables, like Peeyush wrote it takes more bandwidth for higher-resolution video.  Secondly, TVs are probably connected to your home internet service, often using an ethernet cable. This gives them more available bandwidth than a phone or tablet when connected to 3G or 4G, or possibly even WiFi.  If there is not enough bandwidth to stream at maximum quality, most streaming servers will lower the video quality to reduce bandwidth.  A TV connected via ethernet to a high-speed internet will be able to use more bandwidth than a phone or tablet connected to 3G or 4G in most cases.

Which is the best device: a Google TV, an Apple TV, or a Boxee Box?  Why?

I think it depends a lot on what you need.I've owned both the first and second generations of Apple TV.  I can tell you that it's the best option for me.  The new Apple TV lets you stream Netflix, and I've got a huge DVD library that I've ripped via Handbrake, so I share that out to the Apple TV.  The only thing missing from it (for my purposes) is Hulu.  Now that it's been jailbroken, I expect a Hulu app is forthcoming. The Boxee Box will be adding VUDU and Netflix this month, though there's apparently no word on Hulu coming anytime soon.  It apparently handles local content well, though I'm not familiar with the interface.  That being said, it supports apps, and it's theoretically easier to tinker with than an Apple TV (I say "theoretically" because we don't know what'll come of the A-TV's jailbreaking yet).  Unfortunately, it's twice the cost, and it's physically bigger and more awkward.Boxee Box handles web video, but according to Wired, it does it poorly (http://38.todhd.com/chat_ajax.ph...).  Additionally, the article indicates some issues with the remote. My understanding is that Google TV is a big disappointment.  However, I can't attest to that personally.  That's merely anecdotal from various tech sites.  Mossberg said it's "certainly not ready for prime-time," but to be fair, he's an Apple fan.  Betanews has a favorable review of it (http://bit.ly/fiITU5), but I don't personally find what they say all that compelling.  They later call it "dead on arrival" (http://www.hln.be/hln/nl/960/Bui...).Personally, for the price ($99), I think the Apple TV is a great choice.  Even if you don't buy anything from iTunes (which I rarely do), it streams ripped DVDs, Netflix, music, Internet radio, audio & video podcasts, and if you jailbreak it, Last.FM and web browsing (http://engt.co/e8uuUf) and probably much more.  No Hulu yet, but that's not available for the other options either.  The Apple TV's remote is great (though I use a Logitech Harmony, providing even more features), and the UI, while simple, is easy to use.
