Does China have cars?

It' hard to have one car in Shenzhen, China.Every morning I go to my office by bus and return home by bus too . My god those are the two uncomfortable experiences that I can't bear any more in my daily life, because the crowd in the carriage is what you can not imagine, sometimes i can sense the cold of the bus’s gate by my cheek .The green bus is that that I take everyday , they are waiting for green light .(According to Shenzhen bus group’s website , there are 5248 bus running in Shenzhen everyday . Almost all of them are pure electric bus.)So why don't I go to office by metro ?This is a map of running lines in Shenzhen right now. If you once go to office by metro at work day in Shenzhen, I can bet you will choose bus next time . Metro is more crowded than bus.So Why don't I buy one car to avoid the crowded public vehicles? After all, one car is not that expensiveThis picture photographed at the urban area of Shenzhen. As you can see, the speed of those cars is very slow because of the heavy traffic. Actually traffic jams are a serious problem in many Chinese cities because there are way too many cars. (according to Shenzhen government’s website, there are 3.4 million cars in Shenzhen city right now). The governor of Shenzhen city chooses to restrict the quantity of cars that run in Shenzhen by restricting the supply of the ID that every car needs to have. So let's see what will happen if I want to buy a car in Shenzhen :I should apply for one ID for the car I would buy to the Shenzhen government . And wait for a reply.every three months 5k lucky people will get their ID for their cars by lottery from 700k applicants . Yeah 5k people from 700k applicants every three month. If I am lucky, after I get an ID I will go and buy a car.Another way to get an ID is to buy an electric car . According to Shenzhen’s law I can get a green ID without lottery if I buy an electric car. (In China, the price of a traditional car is about 100k yuan while an electric car is about 170k yuan)( BYD Tang with a green ID. Traditional cars will get a blue ID, a green ID is for electric cars )Every three months 5k lucky people get an ID by lottery from 700k applicants , it's hard for an applicant to get what they want. So it's hard to have a car in Shenzhen not because we don't have cars but because we have way too many cars.

How did the Mongols conquer China when China was technologically advanced?

The Song dynasty was also one of the most vigorously anti-military states that has existed. The Tang collapsed into warlordism when generals were able to build civilian powerbases and their soldiers were more loyal to the generals than the Emperors, and the Song were determined not to repeat this mistake. Officers were rotated frequently to prevent them from building relationships with their men or local civilians. Wages, training and equipment were all kept so low that soldiers were stuck in poverty and unable to become an effective fighting force. Soldiers were executed for the smallest infractions, sometimes collectively. At points, the nominal army was referred to as “the bandits we’re cooperating with right now”, and the central government really did see the military basically as organized crime; trying to eradicate it is futile so just manage it as best you can. It was probably a bit of self-fulfilling prophecy, as soldiers were driven to commit crimes to survive. China doesn’t think about defense the way most nations do because there is almost never someone truly capable of invading China.Against an organized, disciplined and motivated force, supported by its civilian population, the Song army never had a chance.
