Nokia Lumia 1020 or Iphone?
The downside to the entire Windows Phone line is the app store. You'll here it every time, because it is mostly true. No, they don't have 1,000,000 apps like the Apple store, but they also don't have 12,365 versions of Flappy Bird like the app store does. As far as non-game apps go, the Microsoft store has you pretty well covered. Even with just what comes on the phone you are pretty well covered. There are a lot of games, don't get me wrong, but I play most of my games on my PC, not my phone. Try this... go to an AT&T store and have them get you a 1020 and an iPhone, and put them side by side. Play with them. The 1020 is slightly larger than the 5S, but not huge. The camera blows the iPhone's (and almost any other cell phone) camera out of the water. Notice it has a real flash, not an LED blinky light. And that's before you see what the camera app on the phone can do, not to mention all the other photo apps available. I don't have a 1020, I have a 1520 running the preview of Windows Phone 8.1. There is nothing Apple can do to make me even think of going that route.
What is better: a Lumia or an iPhone?
If you can sacrifice quality and new apps for ur phone, better system integration and getting themes , hacks and tweaks for getting various interesting features and syncing paid apps for free(cracked apps) and if you are really really obsessed with Microsoft Windows 8 or 8.1, lumia is good for you. There are various reasons for iPhones being popular throughout the world (though they possess their own limitations)
Is Nokia Lumia 1520 still a good buy? If yes, where can I buy one?
I’ll advise you to avoid Lumia 1520. The 6 inch screen may sound good on paper but in real life it's way too bulky to carry around.Microsoft didn't include 1520 in the list of eligible phones for the Creators Update. So although it supports official update to Windows 10 Mobile and Windows 10 Mobile Anniversary edition, it won't receive the Creators Update.Since the phone originally ships with Windows Phone 8 so it won't receive call recording facility even after updating it to Windows 10 Mobile as this facility is limited to only phones that ship preinstalled with Windows 10 Mobile.If you want a good Windows phone then go for a new Windows 10 Mobile device.New unopened old stocks of 32 GB Lumia 1520 are barely available anywhere. The ones available at eBay have a rather hefty price tag of $274, seriously this phone ain't worth that price especially when the all new Alcatel Idol 4S Windows with Sanpdragon 820 processor, 4 GB RAM, 64 GB storage and Continuum capability is available at Amazon for $280.
Is the Nokia Lumia 1020 the right choice for a camera?
The same thing I thought 2 years ago, bought a Nokia 808 preview. But as I grew as a photographer, I realized there are other aspects about photography than outright image quality, which only a camera can provide. So I bought a DSLR.If you planning to do only casual photography, 1020 is good. Better than any point and shoot. And its a good smart phone as well. The advantage is it will be with you always.But if you want to pursue photography more seriously, buy a DSLR.The advantage you get will be controls over your shooting in a more physical, natural way.of course image quality advantage. Pureview may be as good as DSLR in day light, but in low light, size of the sensor matters. Bigger sensor, more light capturing.Also you can change lenses to change perspective of your photos, which you can't on 1020. And your DSLR will serve you for many years in comparison to a phone, which has 2-3 years of life. After 2-3 years you'll be bored with your phone or it mght go brick and you may wish to change it, but no other phone will give you that great camera. So you'll be frustated.However preview is better than point and shoot.
Can the Nokia Lumia 1020 shoot 4K video?
It doesn't - only 1080p (HD). In addition to a big enough sensor, a camera needs a pipeline large and/or fast enough to move around and store 4K video, which is 4 times as much data. Even some 4K prosumer cameras cheat this by compressing the crap out of the video so that it doesn't overload the storage pipeline (which effectively negates any benefit from the higher resolution imagery)
What is drawback of Nokia Lumia 1020?
Lumias 1020 most outstanding feature is the camera.Not surprisingly, the biggest drawbacks I've found about the model are linked to it as well: because of how enormous the sensor is, the camera tends to be a bit slow. While the photos / videos it makes are truly outstanding, you always need to take into consideration it will take a few (2-3) seconds for camera to initialize and you won't be able to make a lot of photos in quick succession.The size of the sensor also means using camera drains the battery pretty fast.At the same time, the camera on 1020 makes all the already great photo apps for Lumia line really shine (Cinegraph, Panorama etc).Some people also complain about the bulge the sensor creates. I don't mind this one personally.
Does a Nokia Lumia 1020 serve as a good camera?
I have been using NL1520 and I have stopped carrying my Point and shoot. 1020 is even better and powerful than 1520 so yes it should work as an excellent camera. Other things you needn't worry about it as it keeps taking backup of your pics on onedrive so sharing stuff from any trip is so easy as the step to first upload pics after the trip has been eliminated. I cannot comment for the battery life part but rest assured it is an awesome camera.
