Iphone Backup Restore Wont On New Iphone 5s

What does restoring my iphone from a backup mean?

Restore from backup means it would put the content/settings etc from that point onto the iPhone.

It will overwrite what is on it currently yes. Option 1 would do the same, except that you wouldn't have anything on it after it is done, would be like it came out of the box.

Usually you restore from a backup (if you had a previous iOS device) before starting to actively use it.

IPhone 5s won't finish iCloud restore?

When I got the 5s I had to restore the backup from my iCloud. It worked, like I got all my messages back and my pictures and apps. The only thing I didn't get back is my music and that's really all I can think of. But I want to back up my phone but it won't let me cause it says the restore hasn't finished. How can I get it to finish? I tried powering it off and back on and it said it was it was gonna finish restoring but it didn't. Should I just click stop restoring if I already got everything I wanted back?

If I restore my iPhone, will I lose everything? How can I stop this from happening?

When you restore your device (iPad,iPhone) it erases everything and then reinstalls the core applications and OS.Backups are for times when you loose your device, it gets damaged, or you are upgrading to a new device. Apple has setup iCloud to allow you to back up your device completely. It also has provided a way to restore everything except the applications without having to restore from a backup. Why you might ask?Your device has a lot of things going on in the background besides what programs you are using. All this activity and changes are captured in the backup. Sometimes communication between backup (done through WiFi) gets garbled. Sometimes the garble happens in the device you are using that causes problems. Those problems are saved in the full backup. If Apple runs diagnostics on your device and there are no errors, then the issue you are having is most likely software. When this happens you need to restore your device to factory settings and set up as a new device. You can not restore from a backup without putting the problem back on the device.By turning iCloud Photo Library on, and set to put originals in the cloud, and turning on from the main iCloud page the items like contacts, etc. these are backed up separately. Then after the restore all you need do is log into your iCloud account after selecting set up as new. All your photos will come back along with contacts, messages, etc. Only the applications will need to be reinstalled and the device personalized after.

What can you do when your iPhone won't send pictures?

You can try these two ways to fix iPhone won’t send pictures in text. iPhone indeed supports sending pictures via MMS or iMessages. If your iPhone won't send pictures in text, my guess is you don't have MMS enabled on your phone.1. Fix iPhone Won't Send Picture via MMS2. Fix iPhone Won't Send Picture via iMessage1. iMessage works when you have it enabled and the recipient is also using iMessage. This requires the recipient is also using an iPhone, iPad, iPod touch or a Mac. So, confirm this first.2. Check the Wi-Fi/Cellar network. Try to open a webpage in browser to check if the network works fine. Or you can reset network via Settings > General > Reset Network Settings.3. Restore your iPhone. If you can't send pics via messages still, you are advised to reset your iPhone to factory settings. Since factory reset will erase all data on your iPhone, please backup your device with iTunes or iCloud first. Then, connect your iPhone to computer with USB cable and open iTunes > Click "Restore iPhone ..." button in the summary panel when your iPhone shows up > Click "Restore" again to confirm your action. Then, iTunes will restore your iPhone to factory settings. When your iPhone restart, you can restore iPhone from iTunes backup or iCloud backup.4. If even the factory resetting cannot solve the problem, the issue may caused by the iMessage server itself. Since this is out of your control, you just need to wait the server to turn back to normal.Note: Before resetting your iPhone to factory setting, you should back up your existing data first, so you can restore the contents with the iPhone backup in your iTunes later.

IPhone 4s stuck in recovery mode?

I got out an old iPhone 4s to use because I broke my iPhone 5. The 4s was still running ios 5, so I connected it to iTunes to update it. Before it finished updating there was an iTunes alert saying the update could not be completed (something like that) and my iPhone was put into recovery mode. I again plugged the iphone 4s nto the computer to restore it, but everytime I plug the phone in, iTunes doesn't bring up anything about the phone. How can I get out of recovery mode when iTunes isnt even recognizing my device? http://theiphonewiki.com/wiki/Recovery_Mode_(Protocols) my phone looks like the first picture.

What should you do if your iPhone is stuck in recovery mode and won't restore?

First is to force restart your iPhone, which is the simplest way to fix it. Just press your home and power button together for about 15 seconds till you see the apple logo. But this method doesn’t work every time.Another method is to try DFU mode. Just connect your iPhone to iTunes, press home and power button together till the apple logo appears. Then release the power button but continuing to hold the home button and wait for the iTunes to tell you that it’s in the restore mode. In this way, your iPhone will detect to iTunes without activating the boot loader, and then restore successfully. However, if the above methods are useless for you, try to use iOS System Recovery from FORecovery for help. This program can assist you in solving common bugs and software issues with iOS devices without losing your valuable data.Detailed introduction of the above three methods can be found here: How to fix an iPhone stuck in recovery mode. Hope this helps.
