What are ways to speed up an iPhone 3G running iOS 4?

unfortunately 4.2 is a bit harsh on the 3G, it rendered mine practically unusable, I jailbroke mine and overclocked it and a few other things and it was Much better, but in the end I decided to go back to 3.1.3heres the link to the overclocking guidehttp://con.ca/news/4315

How can I make iPhone 4s faster with IOS 9.2?

The iPhone 4s is at the end of its support period and no longer performs as it did when new. This is due both to the age of the physical devices (since Apple is no longer making new ones) and the increased demand of iOS 9 over the version it launched with, iOS 5.There are a few things you can do to speed up your iPhone 4s, but a new phone will be required to have a smooth experience that is worthy of the iPhone name now. Keep in mind that the iPhone 4s cannot update to iOS 10 or later, as well.Turn off Background App Refresh. This limits app activity when closed. Honestly, I recommend turning this off on even new iOS devices to improve performance and battery life.Adjust accessibility and display options. Go to Settings and turn on “Reduce Transparency” (under “Increase Contrast”) as well as “Reduce Motion”.Restore your device to Factory Defaults. This will remove everything from your phone and make it like new, but it will also speed up your device. Once done, only add back what you need as you'll slow it back down the more you install.Return to iOS 5 or 6. If you can find a legitimate and legal copy of iOS 5 or 6, your iPhone 4s will run much smoother on these versions. iOS 7 should probably work just fine too; these versions may be older and support fewer apps and features, but they'll run better on your outdated hardware.Upgrade to a newer iPhone. As stated at the beginning of this answer, the 4s is no longer receiving updates from Apple and is at the end of its product lifespan. To get back to having great performance and new features, you'll need a newer device. (Wait until September 2016 when the new iPhones come out, though. Even if you don't get the brand new one, previous models like the 6/6s and SE will be cheaper)

I have been hearing it for a long time that iPhones become slow when they stop receiving iOS updates. Why is it so?

well my dad is using iphone 4S still and yes when i received it i had ios 7 then IOS8 and IOS9 came and they screwed the phone up. Everything got painfully slow from launching any app to making a call. But my father doesn’t mind and in all fairness iphone 4S is very very old now so its bound to be slow. there are 2 reasons for that1. The company has to sell new phones so they give you updates that slow the phone down to such an extent that you would want to purchase the new phone. They have to make profits after all and if they give you everything perfect then how will they themselves survive. That’s why you see iphones have many issues that they fix in next iphones so that people would want to get that updated version of iphones. There is no such thing as a perfect phone.2. Sooner or later things start to get obsolete especially in today’s mobile world things get obsolete sooner than later. With such a high rate of innovations and more updates and something new every few months coming which require more GPU and processing power to handle like games or even facebook which adds more features every few months which requires more RAM and ROM to run phone start to get slow and hardware also starts to wear out slowly. So basically old hardware cannot keep up with new updates. You can take examples of games as well you purchase a graphic card or laptop and it runs games for 1 or 2 years smoothly but then heavy graphic games come and graphic card cannot handle that heavy graphics and they slowly start to slow down.

Should I install iOS 10.2.1 on my iPhone 7 plus?

It depends. If you care about jailbreaking:Don't update. As far as I know, the upcoming jailbreak for iOS 10.2 is neither compatible with iOS 10.2.1 nor the iPhone 7 and 7+. However, I would very strongly recommend you get SHSH blobs for iOS 10.2 and 10.2.1, both of which Apple is currently signing as of writing this. You can use SHSH blobs to downgrade your iOS device at a later date once Apple stop signing it, if a jailbreak comes out for your device. If you don't care about jailbreaking:You should absolutely update. Your phone is new enough that the iOS update will not slow it down, and iOS 10.2.1 has quite a few bug fixes. When iOS 10.3 comes out, you should update to that too.Essentially, until your device is a year or two old, you should always update to the newest iOS version, because it will only bring you benefits. Unless you care about jailbreaking.Hope this helps!

Why does my iphone 5 keep dying so fast?

please understand that Apple makes/codes new IOS updates ONLY for the NEW Iphone of that year, in this case IOS7 for Iphone 5S and 5C... IOS6 for Iphone 5, IOS5 for I4s and so on............... IF lower models/hardware update to the new IOS7 software, which were not coded for the new software, then they will become slower and die faster.... this is a fact of life with Iphones.... IOS is a closed sourced system, not Open Source like Android. It is made for 1 and only 1 phone... not alllllllllllllllllllll iphones, which iphone crack heads tend to think....

Next, please understand background process drain battery... the more you make the phone CPU and RAM do... the more battery will get sucked... another fact of life

you said they replaced the battery.. Good... so that negates a defective battery. You either have a Defective phone.... or..... your just a typical iphone user with no technical education on how your device works.

If I were you, I would Itunes Restore back to pre-box settings... wiping ALLL of my data... If the battery issue remains, then I knwo 100000000000% that I have a defective or broken Iphone 5..... For AppleCare, if its still in 1yr Warranty, You will get a new iphone 5 for Free. If you are no longer in warranty, then you need to cough up $99+tax for a new iphone 5

If the issue remains on the NEW iphone 5... LMAO.... well... then... start learning the iphone... LMAO!
