Is $10 Too Much Of A Tip For A $30 Total

How much should I tip for a $25 haircut?

I think that $5.00 should be sufficient enough. This could be your regular cosmetologist/salon person, that you have a long time professional relationship with as well. If you have given her/him/them/they gifts and greeting cards and such, on previous occasions, it's essentially up to you how much you feel you should give or leave as a tip. It depends on where and how one feels about tipping. Last year, I went to a new place to have my eyebrows waxed. The technician asked me for a $5.00 tip right up front-before they had even started. I did not go back there again. If they are pushy or the place of business has a policy of a required gratuity out in front, I may not even go there. I come from a place in the Great Midwest, where you tip if you like their service. This sends a message if you like how you are treated or not. The idea of trying to have an enforced tipping policy placed upon one is not a way to improve their service. If I don't have tip money sometime, I shouldn't feel like I am being pressured into tipping anyway. My regular service people will tell me a tip isn't always necessary, because they are good people. T-I-P-S is after all and acronym for “To Insure Prompt Service.” It is a way for all of us to send a message about the service we may receive. If one is not treated properly, respectfully, and right, then I will not be going back there. You may also do the same. It is our little way of voting on most of services we may receive. We can also learn and tell them much by word of mouth reviews we tell to our friends and vice versa, and any new aquainteces about whenever they ask us for our opinion about any place we know and have frequented.I hope I have answered your question to you satisfaction?Be well and careful out there… Take care….

Is a 2 dollar tip good for a pizza delivery driver when the total was $30?

$2 is a little bit less than average. An average tip for that size order would be $4-5, but any tip is appreciated. Remember gas is $4 a gallon and most drivers only get about $1 per delivery to pay for gas.

Please don't assume that the driver keeps the delivery fee. I have delivered pizza for a few different places and I never got the delivery fee.

How much should I tip pizza guy?

Yes that would be too little. Pizza delivery drivers normally get a wage of about $5-$6 per hour and greatly rely on tips. They only get a small portion of the delivery fee and that's only to cover their gas, they don't get to pocket any of it so never count it towards your tip. You should always tip at the very least $2, no matter how much your total is. $3-$4 is a good tip.

What is a good amount to tip a server at a restaurant?

we are a family of 4, soon to be 5. my kids are toddlers.. ages 2 and 3, and both boys so they sometimes make a big mess. we typically spend $30 and up after 2 kids meals, 2 adult entrees, 2 drinks (we bring the kids juice with us), and sometimes appetizer and dessert. the kids get bored coloring and broken crayons wind up on the floor along with crumbs, napkins, etc. if they make a big mess, we straighten up as best as we can and leave a sizable tip for the server. depending on the mess, we tip between 5 and 20 dollars. 5 dollars is the usual amount for restaurants such as denneys, etc. if there isnt a big mess and the server was ok, but not great. if a waiter/waitress really impresses us with quick refills, no stupid questions, we dont have to ask for extra napkins, etc. the tip is more like 10 dollars. we have tipped 20 at places like ruby tuesday where the waitress was awesome and we didnt have to ask for anything, the service was perfect and the food was all correct. big plus when they dont set glasses down in the kids reach or leave hot plates in front of my kids. if they clear dirty dishes promptly this also warrants a good tip from us.

is this excessive? are we leaving too much, do u think?

i just had a thought (literally just now) that i dont even know which places make waiters pool their tips. so what are your thoughts?

Do you tip the pizza delivery guy?

if he got my pizza there on time, and im not feeling like an ***, usually 3-5 dollars.

$10 tip for a $30 haircut is good right?

I guess. I tip 15 for a $140 haircut

How much tip does my waiter get if I don't know how to do math?

All of the answers provided thus far involve an understanding of basic math, so I'm not so sure they're providing a practical answer for you.  I'm sorry you fell asleep during your elementary school years. Not to worry, though.  Technology is here to help.First you must decide a percentage to give the wait staff, based upon your personal tipping philosophy and how good a dining experience you just had.  Then take the pretax amount, which should appear somewhere on your check and punch that number into the device shown above.  Then multiply that number times your self-determined percentage.  The multiplication button is represented by the "x" on the keypad.  Please remember this for future reference.  To get your answer, then press the equals sign, designated by the two (vertically stacked) horizontal lines.  It should look something like this -->  =.I hope this post has been helpful to you.  Please print it out and keep it in your wallet at all times (just in case you forget).  Also, please work on making your signature more legible.  It looks like chicken scratch (no offense intended). Finally, I see from your receipt that the numbers don't add up ($48.40+ $7.60 = $56 not $55).  The waiter eats the math error.  Your signature authorizes the credit card company to charge your account with the total amount of the bill.  They will collect $55 (less any credit card fees).  Assuming the tip that the restaurant collect goes to the waiter, the waiter should receive $6.60, representing the total amount collected ($55) minus the cost of the food including sales tax, if applicable, $48.40.
