Is 13 Too Late For Nba

Is it too late to start practicing basketball at 14 to get into the NBA?

14 years old is not too late to do anything!Mind you, the odds are always going to be against you when trying to make it into a league as skilled and exclusive as the NBA. There are only about 450 roster spots available. That means ONLY 450 people out of the whole population of the world (7.6 billion people) get to play in the NBA.That being said, you can still make it into other leagues around the world, or play college ball or just get really good at the game still. Work on your game in an organized fashion: get as many reps as you can, eat right, play in competitions, challenge yourself and dedicate yourself to get as good as you can in basketball. It can’t be a past time. It can’t be what you do when you are free. Make time for the game.Good luck!

Is it too late to start playing basketball for me?

Even though I have been watching college basketball,NBA,and high school basketball for around 3 years,I have never really given basketball a chance.I mean,I've played it before but nothing serious.Just group games with friends at the school playground or at the park.Despite my size,6'2'',every time we used to play unorganized ball in the playground,my friends would tease me for missing easy layups and mid-range or point blank shots. In fact, they would call me "Shaq",because of my knack for rebounding and as well as for my knack for missing easy layups or shots. This was almost 3 years ago,and I was around 5'11'' back then.(though once again,I mainly blame my lack of maturity for missing those shots, coupled with the fact that I was being serious while playing). This all changed however, when I began rapidly maturing(thanks in fact to the sudden death of my grandma, the person who pretty much raised me). That and other struggles that have shaped me into a man.Anyway, due to my maturity,my game started blooming.I wasn't scared to drive in and get a well-focused layup, and my mid-range game has grown tremendously.I have also learned how to shoot the three, thanks in part practice. So here I am now, having just turned 17 on the 14th,in 10th grade and standing at 6'2''(Im 6'4'' with my Nike Uptempos on).I have found confidence in myself to play the game, and I have also grown a deep passion for it.There is just one problem -- I dont know if Im too old to play basketball next year in my school's varsity team.I can certainly shoot and drive for the layup,as well as know just about every aspect of the game,I have a decent dribble, but I need help with my crossovers and having confidence that defender cant stop me.I do have, however, one thing that very few players my age have:passion, focus, determination, and maturity to lead a team. That is why next year will either make me or brake me.That's why next year I need to make sure that I match all of my coaches standards and demands,if I get selected to play basketball.Do you think Im still in time to fix my game and be someone?

PS:Im really sorry for the long rant.I didnt mean it to be like this.

Is it too late for me to start playing basketball?

It is too late for nothing.Everyone has to start from somewhere.I started playing basketball in my sophomore year in my college from basics. To be frank,i never hold the ball once before sophomore year. It turns out,i ought to be great at it once i started.I hit the court every day, increased the level of my attributes. And coach and few senior guys helped me. In my third year, i led my college team and played for the University which my college is affiliated to.In final year,we brought home, medals more than in our college history. And finally,we trained juniors as best as we can, formed the solid team with our juniors. And then We graduated from college, Not from Basketball.

Is 13 years old too young to make it into the NBA? That's all I want.

First of all, how old are you, maybe 12, 13 or 14 years old? You still have some growing to do so the height thing isn’t too much to worry about. Second, you can only improve your shot at getting into the NBA if you continue to work out, practice and keep on trying out for various teams. Your school team is only one of several organized teams to consider. If you attend a church, sometimes there are church league teams. You can also check into community league teams or teams sponsored by the YMCA or other like organizations. Don’t limit yourself to just being on your middle school team.Last of all, I would encourage you to get involved in other team sports like baseball, football, soccer, etc. In being involved with other sports, you can develop skills that can aid you in your pursuit of a basketball future. Teamwork is paramount in any successful team. In interacting with other teens in a structured atmosphere where teamwork is the key to achieving a unified goal, you can and will learn how to work together, depend on others and have them depend on you helping you to grow into a team leader.NBA and all other professional scouts look at more than just you ability to play the sport. They consider everything that makes a player great including leadership abilities and being a team player. But before you think about the NBA, focus on continuing to improve your skills as an athlete and work on making excellent grades keeping in mind the role college plays in a future NBA star’s life. One important thing about a college education is you do need something to make a living after your NBA career.Believe in yourself and as Winston Churchill said, “Never give up.”
