Is 18 A Bad Composite Score On The Act

Is a 19 composite score on act good?

Was it a practice or was it a real ACT?

Most good schools want around a 30.

I tried it a couple weeks ago and I got a 22 for the first time, but after a week it became a 25. I'm going to take another one this Saturday...I'm hoping for a 27! (these were all practice ACT's)

Anyway, let's work hard and do GREAT! =)

I have an 18 composite score on my ACT. Is there hope for me to get into Coe College?

To start with, here’s some statistics about students recently admitted to Coe: Coe College Admissions Results for Class of 2020You can see that the average ACT score is a 24, so you’re considerably below that. I think the best steps for you to take are to try to improve your ACT score. If you can get private tutoring, that will be the most effective route for someone needing your score improvement. Read this article so you know what to look for: Should I use a tutor to help me prepare? - prepACTSATIf you can also post your section scores, that will provide more specific feedback. Most importantly though, get some admissions advice from someone at your college - preferably a counsellor of some kind. They should be able to help you navigate the application process and give you advice that’s relevant to your situation specifically. Admission is about more than ACT scores, but at the moment, yours might rule you out, unfortunately. You really do need advice given by someone who is more familiar with your academic situation, not just people on the internet.Good luck!

I got an 18 composite score on my ACT, how bad is this.?

I how hard will it be to get into any college or community college with this score i also got a 1320 on my SAT's and get mostly C's in school and have played basketball for 4 years but not good enough for a college

I got a composite ACT score of 19 and Im very unhappy about it...?

Relax, when you apply for colleges you can send them your current scores and then update them. There are still about 2 more ACT exams before august. One in April and one in June.

Here are a couple of suggestions. Get an ACT test prep book from a local book store. I know there's the:
ACT prep for dummies.
ACT : Kaplan
ACT: Princeton Review

My biggest advise for you is to get a book (you can even check at your local library for ACT prep books) read it! Go through it slowly. DO THE PRACTICE TESTS! look through and see what you did wrong and try to fix it. For the math portions, i would try to work more problems (of the kind i didnt understand). I studied for the science and reading portions by taking many practice tests (looked some up online: there are short ones, and a full one on the ACT websiste). I had trouble making time for both of these sections. The last time I took it I brought my scores up because i was able to make a pass through answer all I knew and come back and make educated guesses on all that I had skipped.

1. Time management has to be one of the most important things you can practice for on the ACT.
2. Practice! Know the test. You will always have the same amount of questions and the same amount of time as youre told (you can find that out on their site or the test prep book. It goes over that).
3. Be prepared. Start ahead of time. Dont wait until the week before the test to prepare. That happened my 1st time taking the test. I had the book but i didnt take my dad seriously ;) when i was told to study lol. 2nd time around was better. The 3rd time around i improved in all areas! This time i was really serious.
4. Answer all questions. Make educated guesses. That was something that really helped me.

best of luck! score high! i wanna hear you got a 36 ;)

Is 18 a bad act score?

Yes. The majority of colleges are going to want at least a 21. Many of your better state schools will want 24-26 range. Ivy League schools 30+

The lower your score the less options hyou will have for college.

Is an ACT composite score of 24 really bad in engineering school admissions?

Well, you did your research and saw that the average ACT scores are 27 or higher. I assume you’ve checked the colleges you are interested in. Admissions to engineering schools are competitive because it’s a very popular major. Anything below the school’s average will decrease your admission chances. To try to compensate for a low ACT, all other components of your application have to be much stronger than average, and still it might not be enough especially if the math section is too low. You need to retake the test or take the SAT - some students do much better on one test than the other, it depends on a student.

Is a composite score of 18 on Act good for first time? I'm a junior and my GPA is 3.75.

The ACT average nationwide is around 20–21. You are a bit below average, but that does not mean it is a terrible score. A good ACT score is up for interpretation depending on the person. What is your dream college? Is your ACT score in the 50th percentile or higher for the school? If you answered yes to the previous question, then you have a good ACT score.Your GPA is relatively high compared to most US high schoolers, which is good. If you are planning to apply to top public schools like UC Berkleley or prestigious colleges like the Ivy League, then yes, your score is definitely low.The good news for you is that you are still a junior and have time to prepare for the ACT. I would buy a Princeton Review ACT Prep book and go through practice tests online. Doing this alone raised my score by 4 points.

Is this an OK act score or Bad act score ?? someone help me plz? i am very worried?

I hate to be blunt, but a 15 is terrible. Nationally, you rank in the 13th percentile. This means that of the people who have taken the ACT recently, 87% did better than you did.

With a 15, you need to take it again. If you don't score any better, you really need to figure out if going to college is the best path for you. I would suggest talking to your parents and your guidance counselor about this.

If you want to see schools that you might be interested in, go to collegeboard.com and use the MatchMaker feature. You can put in your scores, possible majors, distance from home, school size, et cetera, and it gives you a list of schools you might be interested in. It's extremely helpful.

And a note: The scores range from 1-36.

16 on ACT score?

It means that the student was not familiar enough with the format of the test, and does not have strong test-taking skills. It also means the student should retake the ACT, and consider taking the SAT, as many students find one test easier than another. Finally, it means that the student will really benefit from a test preparation class. With a 3.0, the student should NOT settle for being below median, and get some help so s/he can show off to the schools of choice.
