Is 240 Pounds Bad For A Guy

Is a guy 6'1 and 260 pounds fat?

My friend met someone on a phone chat line and there suppose to meet tommorrow and we are having a debate about 6'1 260 being fat. I say that he is not that fat, but she thinks that he is very fat. I was able to listen to his voice and he sounds really heavy to me, then I told her it all depends on how his weight is portion. I know my friend is somewhat shallow doesn't like big guys; however I do. We were just curious what everyone else thinks. Oh yeah if anyone have any examples are pictures, that would help thanks.

I'm about 5'10 and I'm like 240 pounds.?

It's disgusting! I'm trying to lose weight. I've been trying to go on the treadmill after school on weeknights. And If I get myself movtivated enough, I try to jog up to 4 miles. I feel great afterwards.. I want to lose weight because I think I'm fairly decent looking and maybe if I lose the weight, I can somehow get into modeling or acting, etc. It's a dream of mine. Anyway. Its starting to get cold outside and I absolutely hate wearing jeans and hoodies because they make me feel huge and my fat seems like it bulges everywhere. I don't understand how anyone would even want to be seen with me because i think it looks bad. Maybe thats why I've never had a boyfriend.. :( But, my weight really bothers me, and I obsess over it soo much. I need to find a way to lose it and I need some tips. I feel so helpless and worthless and I can't stand to look at myself most days. I want to look good in clothes and be confident. I have this belly fat that wont go away. How can I get it to come off?

Am i fat? 5'11 240 pounds.?

i really cant tell.
Your weight and height make you qualify for pverweight/obese yet, i think theres muscle in there.

Those BMI things are never really that correct. They dont take into account that lots of people do have different amounts of muscle.

15 years old and 240 pounds?

So like, I'm 15 years old, 5'11, and i weigh 240 pounds, I'm strong with a high bench press and everything, but I'm worried more on slimming down my stomach because I'm a bit chubby, not huge but it hangs past my belt area a bit, I eat healthily, I've been drinking a lot of water and replaced all my soda with carbonated flavored water, but I haven't been starving myself or anything, and I was wondering what I should do to slim down a bit, get in better shape, and just feel better, all I really have right now is a 55 pound kettle bell for working out, any advice?(:

By the way my target goal is around 190-200ish, and I don't wanna hear the " You should only be losing 2 pounds a month" bullshit

Is 6'2" and 240 pounds fat?

technically it might be considered overweight. but if i looked at someone who was 6'2 and weighed that i wouldnt call them fat at all. : )

Can a man who Is 6 feet 7 have 240 pounds of muscle?

First you ask about him having 240 pounds of muscle, but under the question you talk about his total weight being 240 pounds.  Big difference there.  Someone who has 240 pounds of muscle can weigh anywhere from 350 pounds (very low body fat) to several hundreds of pounds (average to high body fat).  As an extreme example, take someone who is 6' 7" and weighs 600 pounds.  Isn't it reasonable that he will have around 240 pounds of muscle?  Of course, you won't see any muscularity because he would be super obese, but that's another issue.  On the other extreme, take a 350 pound bodybuilder or "strongman" competitor with relatively low body fat.  He probably has around 240 pounds of pure muscle. As for "super muscular", that's not a technical term and has no defined meaning.  If a 6' 7" man has 240 pounds of muscle, or weighs 240 pounds and appears muscular, sure you can call him "super muscular" or any other appropriate term.  However, one need not reach such extreme levels to be called "super muscular".  There are many people I and many others would use that term for, most of whom would have a lot less muscle than the extreme specimen you are looking for.Because of the height requirement you have set, there aren't many individuals in the world who are at least 6' 7" and appear muscular, whether with 240 pounds of muscle, or weighing 240 pounds.  If you remove the height requirement, there are thousands of bodybuilders, strongman competitors, athletes, and just regular people who appear muscular and weigh at least 240 pounds or have around 240 pounds of muscle. Here is an example of someone who I believe would have around 240 pounds or more muscle, Hafthór Júlíus Björnsson.  He is 6' 9" and weighs 400 pounds.

Is 255 pounds in a 6'0 man considered fat?

When I checked your BMI, (at 255lbs., 6′0″) it said yours is 34.6, or well into the obese catagory. At 35, and if experiencing any metabolic disorders the medical profession begins calling it morbidly obese. However, you may wish to double check yours with a medical professional. This means to have your weight within the normal range you would need to drop below 184 lbs. Some of the other answers are suggesting you might be in the obese classification because of big muscles or super heavy bones. Whatever the reason you weigh at least 70 lbs more than what is considered normal for your height you have to at least consider the additional weight increases your risk of developing numerous health issues, including joint problems, heart disease, diabetes, and many other health conditions. Keeping to a normal, healthy weight will help you control your blood pressure, blood sugar, and cholesterol levels. If your doctor gives you the okay to exercise, I would start that right away, and a more healthy, balanced diet. You may do much better with the advice of a dietician and a weight management group.
