Older senior citizens: Are you cold all of the time, now that you are over 65?
I discovered that I am cold, no matter what the temperatures. And this began when I hit 66. I recall my late family was also having this everyday. So is this the age where we start having circulation problems? I can't go barefoot anymore as my feet are also cold. And especially now that the winter weather is a factor.

What's winter?Oh you must mean that season that practically every other state in flipping America has? Yeah? Won't find that here. I was able to have withstood the blizzards of Pennsylvania and Maryland and only because they aren't like the Nor'east but I bundled up like it was the Nor'east.Seriously though, San Antonio winters are around 60 degrees and shorts weather. The worst it got in my 3–4 years here was when no one had a scraper to defrost the thin line of ice build up on the windshield. Thank you dad, for that ice scraper before I moved here. They called me crazy but I used it once!
Does every country experience a cold winter?
No no no and No. For example am from Uganda (Africa) actually the zero degree latitude “Equator” is just 40km south of my locality. Here we just hear of winter in tales and films from the Western world. it’s hot 365days/yr. And generally all Equatorial regions do not experience any winters.But if your question was only tailored to only winter experiencing countries then i would say no still. For example Britain experiences warm-mild winters because of the existence of the Warm North Atlantic Drift that keeps its shores most of the time ice free compared to Siberia in the far East {Russia} if am not mistaken which experiences very/extremely cold winters.The coldness of any winter fall is also a function of the season for example Winters of the El-nino years are warmer compared to those of normal years and La-nina years. However winter warmth or coldness is mainly driven by distance you are from the Zero degree latitude in the winter half year. For example Countries above 60- 66°N get it colder than those below that.
Why does a high of 71 degrees during the winter feel colder than a low of 71 degrees during the summer?
Two reasons: the sun and ground conditions.In the summer we are closer to the sun, the sun is much higher in the sky, and the day is much, much longer. Hence we receive far more heat from the sun in the summer months than in winter months, and this makes an enormous difference to the warmth we feel outdoors, regardless of reported temperature. Have you ever noticed the difference in temperature between shaded and sunny areas, although the overall air temperature (according to weather reports) is the same? There is a similar difference in felt temperature between summer and winter, because of the relationship between the sun and the region of earth you are in.Ground conditions also make a great deal of difference in felt temperature. Frozen and/or snow-covered ground gives off a great deal of cold air. A bright, sunny day without much wind, and a reported temperature of 10 C in the spring or fall when the ground is not frozen and free of snow can be quite balmy and enjoyable; but the same in winter when the ground is frozen and covered in snow can be distinctly chilly. Consequently I dress quite differently for outdoor walks when it is 10 C depending on the time of year and ground conditions.
