Is 78 Mg Of Invega Sustenna A Low Dose I Take It For Mania.

Does Invega cause weight gain?

There are many side effects that may occur with the use of Invega, and weight gain is one of the most common (occurring in up to 9 percent of people). Although it is normal to gain a little bit of weight while taking the medication, too much weight gain can increase your risk of diabetes or other health problems. If you are taking Invega and weight gain occurs excessively or rapidly, talk with your healthcare provider. He or she may recommend lifestyle changes, adjust your Invega dosage, or prescribe a different schizophrenia medication.
Weight gain (of at least 7 percent of body weight) with Invega occurs in up to 9 percent of people. While a small amount of weight gain is typical during treatment with Invega, some people can gain very large amounts of weight while taking the medicine. This weight gain is thought to increase the risk of diabetes (see Invega and Diabetes) or other health problems. Therefore, if you are noticing a rapid or large increase in weight while taking Invega, make sure to talk with your healthcare provider.
If you are noticing small, unexplained weight gain with Invega, there are some things that you can do. Some suggestions include:

Eating a heart-healthy diet. This diet should include heart-healthy foods, such as:
Lots of fruits, vegetables, grains, and fat-free or low-fat milk and milk products
Lean meats, poultry, fish, beans, eggs, and nuts.
Limiting foods with saturated fats, trans fats, cholesterol, sodium (salt), and added sugars.
Participating in regular physical activity for at least 30 minutes a day on most days of the week.
Limiting your intake of alcohol.

Anywhere between a few minutes and forever.People have different responses to brain-altering drugs, and may metabolize or respond to Invega at different rates. There is no guarantee of therapeutic benefit, and the side effects caused by Invega may outweigh any benefits you experience or make you feel worse off than before you began taking it.Some people experience changes in their symptoms with a single dose, others require chronic use to notice a meaningfully helpful change or reduction. Some people only get worse on Invega, and others don’t really notice a change in their symptoms one way or the other. Not all symptoms or symptom intensities will necessarily change at the same time, if they ever change at all.If someone responds positively, Invega could take weeks or months to reach the full capacity of its effectiveness for them, and the usefulness and side effects experienced can change, suddenly or gradually—oftentimes for the worse if it’s after a plateau period of effectiveness had been reached.Keep in mind that Invega causes physical dependence and withdrawal syndrome. How long withdrawal lasts, how severe it becomes, what symptoms are involved, and how many doses it takes before someone goes into withdrawal when tapering down, quitting, or taking it intermittently varies between individuals—just like all the other side effects and potential benefits. Here are some resources about Invega that might help you understand the time frames involved, the risks and potential benefits, and the unique nature of patient responses:Psychiatrist-Written Introduction To Antipsychotics: RxISK Guide: AntipsychoticsPrescribing Information For Invega: http://www.accessdata.fda.gov/dr...Adverse Events Reported For Invega: Paliperidone | RxISKPsychiatrist-Written Introduction To Withdrawal: RxISK Guide: Dependence and Withdrawal

Abilify sage dosage for Schizophrenia AND Anxiety.?

It sounds like you are concern for your anxiety. It's good that you are going to talk to your doctor. He would be the best person to answer your questions.
Now, It sounds like you are going through a lot right now. Not only are you experiencing emotional distress, but it also seems like you are dealing with some pretty intense physical symptoms. It is good that you are reaching out. You may be experiencing symptoms of anxiety in this situation. Anxiety can affect you in many ways including your breathing, your sleep, interaction with others, and mood. It can even cause some really serious physical symptoms. Some people might experience a few anxiety (panic) attacks while others can have more. These feelings can be hard to cope with on your own and talking with someone could help. Sometimes those around you may not even know how anxious you are feeling.

When you start feeling anxious, it is important to remind yourself to relax and consider things that are positive for you. Making a list of what makes you happy, even the little things, could help you be reminded of what is working in your life. Deep breathing and stretching can help you ease muscle tension and take care of the physical symptoms of anxiety too. Try activities that you like in order to get your mind off the anxiety as well. Activities like working out, journal, listening to music, or reading a book are all good options to distract you. Try to relax and take time to do those kinds of activities to see if they help.
Whatever you plan to do, please keep reaching out and take care!
Take care,

It is more than reasonable to question if dopamine antagonist medications are mood stabilizers. Despite big pharmaceutical companies massive efforts to translate the effects on mania ( true, they help) into evidence of these meds being long term mood stabilizers , the evidence base is rather poor compared to lithium, for example.

Does risperdal cause permanent changes to the brain?

I took Risperdal for approx. 20 yrs- 6mg and then down to 4 mg. I ve
been off it for 1 yr. and this is what I ve been left with: huge weight gain,
approx. 100 lbs (used to be petite), diabetes type 2, bad osteoarthritis in
most of my body (just got a power wheelchair), diastolic heart failure,
inability to regulate my body temperature (I sweat excessively),some
tar dive dyskinesia in my tongue, bad memory, inability to focus very
much or concentrate for too long. But here is where I have joy.....
Within being off it for about 5 months I could actually think again, enjoy
music, carry on a conversation and have zest for life in general. To me,
that is a miracle! To get my brain back to some form of normal is
what excited me the most.....now I never stop thinking when before my
mind was mostly blank. Had no curiosity and I used to write poetry
and music--creativity disappeared. While I was on Risperdal (as well as
other psych drugs), I just existed, not lived. Enjoyed virtually nothing
and had a difficult time relating to God; which has been a part of my life
since I ve been ten. You know the irony of it is that I too was
misdiagnosed and should have never, ever taken 1 mg of it! All I can
say now is that for the past year I ve learned SO much off the
Internet--having a working brain is like having been set free from
prison!! I remember quite a bit that I ve learned which is amazing to me!
So in spite of the damage that s been done, I m SO thankful to my God
for preserving my brain so that I can be useful and have a LIFE!
Yes, there s life after Risperdal!.....Jacquie

That’s not been my experience with my patients on Effexor.I prescribe Effexor XR only, so if that’s not the case with you, that might be part of it.However, Effexor at low doses is more of a serotonin based medication, and as you approach the more therapeutic doses, the norepinephrine activity kicks in, and actually helps with concentration and focus to some degree.Perhaps there is some other factor going on that is contributing to your sedation and cognitive sluggishness… low thyroid, other medications, medication interactions, other general medical illnesses. Please discuss this in detail with your treating physician.
