Is A 3.6 Gpa Good Or Bad

Is a 3.6 GPA good or bad?

You have a good GPA. Stop listening to gossip. It'll make an idiot out of you. There are plenty PLENTY of really good colleges and universities all over the county. They only difficult part is finding a good fit for you. How to choose?

It's not the greatest, but it's also not bad either. For an engineering curriculum a 3.6 GPA is a pretty solid GPA and companies would be interested in interviewing you. For applying to graduate school, it might be on the low side especially for like medical school or law school. For job applications I think 3.5 GPA is a soft minimum you would want to put on your resume, so 3.6 is considered good to have.Don't worry if you have a 3.6 GPA. You can work on improving it, maintain it, even do nothing and you will still be okay. Grades are not everything, finding the right opportunities are what gets your forward in life.Sometimes it's worth it to sacrifice your grade a bit for exciting opportunities. Sometimes it's worth it for friendship. I don't really regret not getting a higher GPA in college (just short of a 3.7) but I do regret saying no to my best friend asking me to be with him one time, because I hadn’t finished my work (80% done). Grades are important, but sometimes good enough is good enough.Go after the opportunities! And remember, “You miss 100% of the shots you don't take!”

Is 3.6 GPA bad?

Yes.... in your 20 years of life, haven't you ever heard people reference how they kept a "3.0 grade point average?" movies...etc..

Yes, it's very good. Good for you!

Although, the vast majority of employers in the real world won't care what your GPA is as long as you have your degree and graduated college - unless you plan on going into graduate school.

Is a 3.6 GPA good?

Yeh...its good enough to get into many good colleges...but often its not just your grades...extra curricular activities, membership in clubs, organizations, sports teams, community work and there are many other factors that determine if you or the next student will get to fill the seat at a good university..

Someone with a lower GPA but more extracurricular work may snag a spot over a high GPA...

But, your grades are good, so just be optimistic and apply to as many colleges as possible!

Is a 3.6 gpa in high school bad? will i still be able to get into a good college?

It's not bad. I would think you should be able to get into good colleges if you have a good act/sat score. It depends on what you define as a "good" school though... If you want to see your chances you can usually find a freshman class profile somewhere on the colleges' websites. It will usually have an act/sat range and usually something about gpa, but don't read too much into those numbers, they are usually made artificaially high so the college looks more selective.

How good/bad is a 3.6 college GPA?

For the end of the first semester of the freshman year, a 3.6 is just fine.

The freshman year is a period of adjustment; all admissions personnel in graduate/professional schools and programs know that. It is not make-or-break in terms of your eventual chances to get into med school.

Relax. You're doing reasonably well for a freshman. Just don't slack off next semester.

QuestionIs a 3.6 GPA bad for a really good college? It depends. If this is a high school GPA, then you won't get into many of the top colleges.A 3.6 is straight A-'s. This is a really good GPA, but elite schools are looking for GPAs that exceed 4.0.If this is a college GPA, then you're the cream of the crop.A 3.5 at my school gets you in the top 20%. Having a 3.6 is a great GPA.

Is a 3.6 GPA good in college?

It's good for the most part, but if you are trying to get into a really good grad school then it might not be good enough. Once you get your first job in the real world, it is based more on performance though.

Is a 3.6 gpa bad in college?

Laney Brainy, lol! The grade point average
@ 3.6 is great! For the semester you are 3.8. When you are .02 points shy of a 4.0 which is Excellent, what do you think a 3.6 is? You are averaging .04 points from Perfect, 4.0. That is the Highest to have! Now my best recommendation is research for the best schools that offer what you desire in your study field and find out if the requirements. Scholarships are what Most schools reward you with for having such high GPA.; with financial assistance and you owe nothing later. The scholarships are given according to individual needs and performance. My friend's daughter and niece earned a 4 year one that paid their Tuition! My niece was given a Laptop also. You will be surprised once you research and speak to someone just how good your GPA is for studying at a College/University. Here In my state with such Honors, the schools Solicit you by mail and invitation to visit them. GOD bless you! You are precious and from what you say, very determined! We need more young people like you. Laney! There is help out there for you financially to help you study w/o working full-time. Research grants at the Public Lubrary. Certain wealthy individuals will help someone like you, if/when they are aware of the need.

It’s not about “Bad” or “Good” it’s simply about what GPA is “competitive” or acceptable in respect to what university or degree program you’re applying to.Is a 3.4 GPA “acceptable” if you’re trying to get into a very competitive university and major of study? No… it’s not very competitive to many graduate or professional programs at many schools and without a strong standardize test score will put you in the not-likely-to-be-accepted category of applicants. A 3.4 GPA is rather low if you’re applying to most professional programs at a well respected university (law, pharmacy, medicine, etc..)Is a 3.4 GPA “acceptable” if you’re applying to most Tier I law schools IF you’ve scored in the 95th percentile on the LSAT (Law School Admissions Test) or the MCAT (med school) and your undergraduate degree was in Engineering Physics? Well since Engineering Physics is a far more rigorous program than someone who majored in some “fluff” like Sociology, History, or Psychology- it’s often weighed differently in the minds of an admissions committee.Remember that the competitiveness of the school/program makes the difference. A 3.4 GPA science GPA (what matters most if you’re going into many science/math based majors of study) at Kansas State University isn’t the same as someone with a 3.4 GPA trying to get into CIT (California Institute of Technology).
