Is A 46 Bad On The Asvab

46 on the Asvab? Good or bad or is it borderline?

My recuiter said I did pretty well than others in the room but i hear people saying they got 110? I don't know, I thought the highest you could get was a 99? When I got home and told my brother, he said I need to study for the real thing and said I should be embarass with that score (in a joking manner) When he took it he got a 80 something and is currently a mechanic in the Army. I know that my mos all i need to get is a 31, but I atleast want to make a 70 on the real Asvab. my recuiter is giving me until the first week of April to prepare. Is it possible to raise 24 points in 2-3 weeks? is Asvab for dummies a good book? I bought it but it has all the stuff I already know on it? should I still go over it?

Why did I score a 16 on the asvab? ?

OK Thomas I am going to do you a favor and give you some good advice. Buy the book "Mastering The ASVAB" by Arco publishing at your local book store and spend 30 minutes a day for one month working through it. Not some other book that exact title. Work the problems and you will pass the ASVAB. You are not the butt of my jokes and I am not here to insult you. Good luck, Thomas.

I made 40 on the asvab what jobs can I get in the Marine Corps?

After the final ability estimate is computed, it is converted to a standard score on the ASVAB score scale that has been statistically linked to the ability estimate through a process called equating. Equating studies are conducted for every paper and pencil ASVAB form to ensure that scores have the same meaning regardless of which test form the examinee receives.Standard Scores are scores that have a fixed mean and standard deviation in the population of examinees. A Standard Score indicates how many units of the standard deviation a particular score is above or below the mean. In the case of the ASVAB subtests, the mean is set to 50 and the standard deviation is set to 10. Thus, a Standard Score of 40 indicates that the examinee scored 1 standard deviation below the mean. A Standard Score of 70 indicates that the examinee scored 2 standard deviations above the mean.Services can adjust the score acceptability. Examinees also receive a score on what is called the Armed Forces Qualification Test (AFQT). AFQT scores are computed using the Standard Scores from four ASVAB subtests: Arithmetic Reasoning (AR), Mathematics Knowledge (MK), Paragraph Comprehension (PC), and Word Knowledge (WK). AFQT scores are reported as percentiles between 1-99.Now that you understand that concept, you need to find out your subset scores and then take a look at this link. ASVAB and Marine Corps JobsBecause there are many jobs and the requirement may change, you then need to sit down with a recruiter and review what they are looking for and at what score requirements. Hope this helps and Semper Fi my friend.

I took my ASVAB today and scored a 40 on AFQT?

I want to join the Air Force.
Today I took my ASVAB I got:
GS-43
AR-46
WK-44
PC-49
MK-54
EI-51
AS-38
MC-49
AO-65
VE-46
AFQT- 40
MAGE- m-26..a-49...g-32...e-43
I know I did bad and I will re-test in a few months.
I talked to my recruiter (I've known him for a few years) and told him about my scores. He didn't really say much but he said, I can retake it in 30 days, then he paused and he said "You know what, I'm going to talk to my boss." then he hung up. So, I have no idea what they're going to talk about or what.
I've read online that a minimum AFQT is 36 and/or 50.

46 on the practice asvab? Good or bad or is it borderline?

Is getting a score in the mid 40s on ASVAB good?

Quick disclaimer: I am assuming that you are talking about AFQT score since the ASVAB itself has many different scores depending on the military branch.Well, it all depends on what you want to do.If you want to join the one of the DOD armed forces branches as an enlistee (Army, Navy, Marines, Air Force) or the Coast Guard. Then yes, that will get you in to one of these branches provided that you have either:a) Have a high school diplomab) If you do not have them, have at least 15 credits as a college student. If you don’t do not fret, you can retake the ASVAB again*.Now, to be quite frank, the “ASVAB” score does not really matter. What the Armed Services is actually interested in is the “Line Scores”. These are the scores that will determine if you are qualified to get a certain job (MOS, rating etc) in their branch. So if you do want to join, check your line scores and check which job sounds good for you**.Now if you do not want to join the armed forces branches then, throw away that score and do not think about it. The score does not amount to much in the civilian world unless your school decides to use it for “career evaluation”.Hope this helped!

Did bad on USAF practice ASVAB... feeling discouraged?

Just based on your grammar and spelling, you don't sound like the average dummy crying over their ASVAB score, and being disappointed with yourself probably indicates you are capable of doing better. Relax--some people don't take standardized testing well, especially after they've been out of school for awhile.

Some quick brushing up and study guides should work wonders for you. Do NOT stress this minor practice test--testing anxiety is real and probably a big part of your problem. Relax, use your time wisely, and work the math problems logically. Formulas are not always the best way to attack many of the word problems, and you can usually eliminate a couple of the multiple choice answers at a glance.

Check out a couple of different ASVAB study guides at your local library and skim them to see what works for you. Don't beat yourself up yet, since you really haven't done anything permanent yet (only the practice test, which is meaningless). And don't worry about what the recruiters think...believe me, they've seen scores much lower on the real thing.

Good luck!

What's a good ASVAB score for Navy Seals?

There are three calculations that we use below. Know that the SPECWAR motivators I know state a big strength in Math is vital. Hence a fair number of our candidates now have AFQT scores in excess of 80 on up.  There is some consideration for point waivers; just know that SEALs are the full package of mentally, physically, and spiritually strong. An applicant must score one of the following on the ASVAB:1. GS + MC + EI = a minimum score of 170-- OR --2. VE + MK + MC + CS = a minimum score of 220-- OR --3. VE + AR = a minimum score of 110 and MC = a minimum score of 50DISCLAIMER: I am not a SEAL. Just work to help contract Enlisted in and witness composites of records and interviews of some future SEALs. SEALSWCC.COM | The Official Navy SEAL + SWCC Website of the U.S. Government
