Is A Masters Degree Needed To Teach At A Secondary School

Can you teach High School with a Masters, but no teaching degree?

Yes, It's called Alternative Route Teaching

I want to become a high school math teacher. Should I get a second bachelor's degree or a master's degree?

Rather than spend months or years in a degree program, why don't you just take the ABCTE exam which if you pass, gives you a credential that allows you to teach math in 11 states. Mathematics Certification - ABCTE | American Board Then get a job and see if you actually like teaching math, working with kids, and working in public schools, charter schools, or private schools. If you do love teaching– you can always go back and get a Masters in math (NOT math education, but some special topic that interests you: statistics, or symbolic logic, or fractal geometry, et cetera) it will make you better math teacher and earn you a little more money. But there is no need to suffer through an expensive and often fatuous teaching credential program if you are willing to live in one of the 11 states – and if you already know enough math to pass the test that will put you ahead of many math teachers who don't really understand, or like, their subject but have a credential.

Primary School PE Teacher?

Hey guys,

I need some information and advise. I want to become a PE Teacher but I am 22 now and was wondering if there are others ways of becoming a Primary School PE Teacher without going Uni for 4 years?

How is the pay like for PRIMARY School PE Teachers?
Do you have to bring the work home with you? Is it more stressful then other jobs?
How much experience is needed?

How to get experience?

I like children and feel that teaching would suite my personality and I would enjoy it but I am not sure about it.

Help from someone if possible who is a primary school PE teacher.

THANKS TO ALL.

Can you teach high school English with JUST a master's in English?

It's not compulsory to even have a masters.
You need a degree in your chosen subject.
Masters come in helpful if you want to teach A Level or Higher education.
You will need a 1 year PGCE (Postgraduate Certificate of Education) course. These are popular routes, providing a further year of college/university study, focussing specifically on teaching, you are expected to already have a thorough understanding (degree level) of your chosen subject.
PGCE courses will provide a total of 24 weeks (18 for primary) placement in at least 2 schools.

Hope I helped :)
