Is A Poodle Or A Maltese A Flat Nosed Dog

When does a MALTESE puppy stop growing?

They get their size (height) at about 6 months old then they start filling out. Toy breeds always hit their max sooner then larger breeds. All the best;^)

Why do some toy poodles have a flat nose but others have a really long nose?

As a lifetime owner and a 40 year breeder of poodles. If a poodle has a flat nose it has been bred to something other then another poodle, possibly a shih tzu.
Standards in all three sizes require a poodle to have defined facial features and a long slender muzzle.
And the also DO NOT have rounded faces.
My profile picture is a perfect example of a poodle.

Are Corgi dogs good for people with allergies?

my boyfriend and i want a dog and he really wants a corgi and i really dont care what kind of dog it is but i do have allergies. so would a corgi be an okay dog to have if i have allergies

Difference in toy poodles with round flat face vs. sharp protruding faces and tail length?

There is no teacup breed.
Your poodle is small but runts are called toys. Just as loveable and wonderful but runts none the less.

If your poodle had a round face, it was not a purebred poodle, probably had maltese or bichon mixed in.

She had a poodle with a sharp nose because recessive genes skipped over her parentage and came straight from a pure poodle further back in her line.

My dog has started "reverse sneezing". Could he be allergic to his thyroid medicine?

My dog started making a weird coughing/choking sound yesterday. When it happens, he basically sounds like a snorting pig. He's about 2 1/2, and this has never happened before. The vet put him in an antihestamine, which she said would help, but he's never had allergy issues before, so i'm not positive this is the underlying problem. He started levothyroxine a month or so ago, so i'm wondering is this could be causing the problem. If not, does anyone else know what it could be, other than allergies? He's a chihuahua maltese mix.

What is the cutest small dog breed you love, aside from French Bulldogs?

I have a new puppy since 9 days. I think he is the cutest little dog in the world! He is a mixed breed, 75 percent chihuahua and 25 per cent Yorkshire terrier, and he is about 20 cm long. He can sit in my palm.He is such a pleasant little dog with a great personality. He loves to play a lot, but cuddles too. He loves to sit on my lap. He already knows a few tricks, can walk outside with his pack leaders, i.e. my husband and me. He can go potty outside, but has a few accidents inside every once in a while. He can be alone for shorter periods of time and often sleeps through the night in his own bed.I’m positively surprised by how good this dog is. I didn’t do much research into which dog to get, he just suddently entered our lives after I saw his picture online and just had to meet him.I learned yesterday that chihuahuas are very popular dogs. They are very smart, friendly, sociable, devoted dogs with very long life expectancy, up to 18 years.Everyone whose made acquaintance with our puppy thinks it’s the cutest dog they’ve ever seen. Are you ready for some real cuteness? Here are some pictures of our little Valentino:He lives in Sweden.

I think my dog has something stuck in her nose. What can I do?

You can put her in the bathroom when you take a warm shower. If you have a vaporizer, you can use that as well. This will help soften mucus, hopefully, making it easier to expel whatever is inside. Just make sure you don't leave your dog in there alone for a prolonged period...you don't want her to overheat. Five or ten minutes should be helpful enough...just a quick shower will do. If the symptoms don't subside, however, it can be anything from a foreign object lodged in your dog's nose to a small tumor, so a veterinary checkup is recommended, as it's the best option for getting an accurate diagnosis and treatment.Best of luck!-Connie M.Non Shedding Dogs Blog
