Is A War On N East Asia Inevitable

Would a German-Japanese War have been inevitable had the Axis won World War 2?

Interesting perspectives on this. I think many responders are getting far ahead of themselves in that consolidating German/Japanese gains would take a massive amount of time, If there would have been a war between Germany and Japan, it would have fomented late in the 21st century.Germany’s plan wasn’t entirely clear, but it was foreseen by Albert Speer among others to be largely the territory below.from Wikipedia great Germanic Reich.Even if you included the territories that they hoped to control (France, the Balkans, Turkey, Northern Africa, none of this territory spills into areas desired by the Japanese. It was hoped by Hitler that the non=Germanic populations in western Russia, the Ukraine and others, could be shipped across the Urals into Eastern Russia (or enslaved). Still, Hitler had no wish to control areas east of the Urals.Japan had occupied the areas on the map below by 1942 and did not have much in the way of greater ambitions. They simply wanted to save these areas from all previous European and American control so that they could control an Asian sphere of influence for themselves. With Russia and the US neutralized (under this scenario) there would not be much pressure from the Americans west of Pearl Harbor and the Russians in Manchuria. They could have possibly wanted to expand further, but it would be hard to see where their ambitions would seriously conflict with the Germans. The Germans had lost their pacific colonies in WWI, and although they would love to gain back control of Papua New Guinea, it certainly wouldn’t have been worth it at the end of the war. They could have knocked heads many years later in Africa, but if they had control of close to half the world by the end of the war, they would have had their hands full and it is hard to see them even maintaining that control.

When did the United States enter World War 2? What was their reasoning to do so?

The USA entered WWII on December 8 1941.Their reasoning? Japan had just attacked Pearl Harbour as a result of US oil embargoes put on Japan intended to deter aggression in China and South-East Asia. Japan reasoned that it was inevitable that they would go to war against the US and decided to launch a preemptive strike that would cripple the US Pacific fleet on December 7. After this, President Roosevelt asked the Congress to declare war on Japan and was almost unanimous with only one vote against. However, 3 days later, Germany and Italy declared war on the US as a result of their alliance with Japan, (even though it wasn’t a defensive pact, because Hitler felt compelled to relieve their ally’s burden). This allowed Roosevelt, (who had already intended to go to war with Germany), to allow for a “Germany first” approach and essentially drew the US into the global war that was WWII.Nazi Germany declares war against the United States - big mistake.

What are the indicators of world war?

There has been several good answers...

Some of you have chosen to answer the question outrigt without delving into current geopolitics, whereas some of you have taken a path that inevitably led to the primary reason I asked the question in the first place.

I'm honestly quite impressed. I thank all of you for making my first Q experience on Y!-A thought provoking.

With that being said, I'm leaving it to a vote.

Why did WW II start?

The immediate causes of World War II are generally held to be the German invasion of Poland, as well as the Japanese attacks on China, the United States, and the British and Dutch colonies. All of the attacks resulted from the leadership of authoritarian ruling elites in Germany and Japan. World War II began after these acts of aggression were met with an official declaration of war, armed resistance or both.

The primary goal of official German policy was the reacquisition of German territories taken by the Treaty of Versailles, and the addition of ethnic German regions of former Austria-Hungary to form a Greater Germany.
