Is All Receptionist Work So Laid Back

Receptionist or server job?

I've worked at the same restaurant for three years. However, a lot of the workers there are really trashy (drug addicts etc.) and I work every single weekend. I'm a college student and I got offered a job as a receptionist at an animal hospital. I know the money won't be as good as serving, I've never been a receptionist before is it a pretty laid back job? Do you think a receptionist is a more respectable job? I'd also have every Sunday off. Guess I just need some advice I'm torn. Any comments or advice would be great! Thank you!!

What is it like working as a receptionist?

I worked on reception for 6 months doing an apprenticeship, so i suppose that was on the job training. The work won't be hard, it is actually pretty laid back once you get the hang of it.. your manager, or whoever is on reception with you, will most probably give you little tasks to do, bit by bit, and as you do them, you'll probably be given more and bigger tasks. Reception and office based work is normally pretty easy.. It can sometimes be rushed off your feet though grr.. Personally i love Admin/reception sort of jobs.. Good luck hunny!! :) xx

Why are receptionists always female?

People can always find exceptions to "always".

According to the US Dept of Labor, 92.7% of receptionists and information clerks are women.

A likely reason is because it is a clean, relatively easy job.

Is being a medical receptionist hard?

I m a 19 years old male, who just got a job at a doctors office as a receptionist. I am going into my sophomore year of college and I ONLY took this job so that I can learn more about the medical field, as I am a nursing student.
I have worked since I was 15, a freshmen in high school but I never had a job like this.
I worked at super markets, was a manager and supervisor at a cafe when I was only 18, and served as a waiter in a small steakhouse.
When I walked into the office for my interview, everyone looked couple years older than me and the manager even told me that everyone besides the doctor were medical students as well. However, being so young I am extremely nervous and I m not sure if I m up to the task.
The manager even told me that I m probably going to want to quit my first week cause there are so many things to do.

I consider myself a fast learner, but all the jobs I had in the past were laid back and chill.
I extremely worried, but at the same time glad that I got the job there because it ll definitely help my resume.
Any tips would be appreciated ^^

Do receptionist at car dealerships get discounts on cars?

They might give you a deal on a trade-in that comes in, but a part-time receptionist won't get any special deals on new cars.
You certainly won't get benefits, including tuition reimbursement. That's almost laughable.
I have worked full-time at a fortune 100 company for 11 years and don't even get tuition reimbursement.

Can relaxed, laid back people be extremely successful achievers in entrepreneurship?

My friends see me as a super relaxed dude.I live 10 houses from the beach and actually enjoy watching sunsets (even though I’m only home on the weekends to see them). When it comes to running companies, I’ve run three. One was acquired, one failed, and I’m now onto my third. The third one is my biggest one yet. In our first year, we employed seven people and helped hundreds of companies manufacture products around the world (Sourcify)If I want to wind down, I hang out with certain friends. When I’m hustling, I’m with my entrepreneur friends where the wheels don’t stop turning. And when something needs to get done that is vital to our success, I can do it faster than anyone else.Having a balance in my life enables me to have sustained growth.I wake up at 5.30am on week days and don’t get to sleep until midnight. On the weekends, waking up at 7am makes it feel like I’m sleeping in.I’m laid back and relaxed, yet when work needs to be done, I’m the first one there.^My team and I winning the Most Innovative Product award in San Diego!
